Married people, was your first love, really a love?

Re: Married people, was your first love, really a love?

hard way.

short story: i was 18, him 21. only son in his family. from a different background (pathan). i was a college freshman, he a junior. became "best friends" which blossomed into more, only to find out that his marriage was already arranged to his cousin in Pakistan. What insued caused alot of heartache, tension, and bad blood between respective families and friends.

i stopped believing in fairy tales after that. it takes a whole heck of lot more than just "love" to make relationship work. you need respect, honesty & commitment above all else.

STA, Hmm I don’t know how, I am not very good with words.
The feeling of nothingness without the other person. You are not yourself, and all that you can be and this other person becomes your axis.
When you start to have premonitions related the other person and it drains all energy out of you. That kind of consumed feeling.

Re: Married people, was your first love, really a love?

No I didn't get married to him. I would say that he is an extremely nice person, well educated and good looking. I had strong feelings for him.. love I don't know. We found each other after many years, came to know that he was going to Yale.. ahem.. But by that time I wasn't interested in him. I rarely make decisions based on emotions. I got married to my husband which was arranged and I am very very thankful to Allah for that. He is just perfect!!!

Have yet to experience it, I am a disbeliever though. People just get used to each other, love shove kuch nahi hota.
