I did not mention but in the case that I mentioned in my OP, the maid was suppose to come to work during day time when hubby is at work anyways. Wife still felt threatened and did not hire her.

If there are no adult men in the home (like her father/siblings/husband) then thats pretty sad and insecure of her to still feel threatened.
