Although, given this latest twist, if the husband has no interaction with her - what’s the wife’s problem? It’s not as if the husband is overseeing her work or am I missing something?

Because she is a bad example. This may not be someone a women would want to keep around her MIL, FIL, kids, nieces, nephews, and guests.
