So, I was wondering what’s the right age for a girl to get married? And when do people start saying “Haww, she is this age and still not married”.
Re: Marriageable Age!
26

26
I like how you have a definite age sorted out :/
@MsDreamy people will always talk. if your 21 or 30. But i do think a good age is to get married mid twenties. Say when you've graduated and gotten a few years in the work field. So yea, mid twenties i a good range to get marries in.
Re: Marriageable Age!
@Ethan_Hunt : And why do you consider 26 THAT age?@htmwrites : My parents have started looking for rishtas for me. I told them I won’t consider getting married until I am done with my studies. I am a medico and I will graduate next year, after which I will go in for specialisation. Thereby, I will be almost 27 when I complete my specialization. But these people (relatives), they don’t let any social gathering go by without asking me or my parents when they are going to marry me.
Re: Marriageable Age!
Just say, “Inshallah, when it’s mean to be. keep me in your duas”, smile and walk away. Relatives always stick their nose where it doesn’t belong. Just stick to your plan and comfort and take it from there ![]()
Re: Marriageable Age!
I do that. But it kinda really gets annoying after a point. However, thank you. :)

Why 32? Will you elaborate a bit, please? :)

When I get married, I'd like to marry a woman, not an entitled princess. In my experience, once women step over thirty, they are well rounded individuals who you can contemplate having a long term, lasting and fulfilling relationship with.
Re: Marriageable Age!
@badabing : I wish everyone thought like that. Sigh!
Re: Marriageable Age!
So do I!

Re: Marriageable Age!
I got married at the age of 26 which was fine, it meant I had finished uni (including post graduate studies) and had also worked on my career for 3 years before marriage. Where I am, it is the norm for girls to be about 25-29 when they get married. Mainly because they finish with studies, then go on to work and by the time they find a suitable match they are around this age. However, I have a cousin who married at the age of 21 (love marriage) and her and her hubby (whilst initially having some financial difficulties), are now one of the most stable couples I know.
I think it just depends on the individual to be honest, but I am a big supporter of girls first finishing their education and then getting married. Marriage is a hard enough adjustment as it is- throw finishing of your degree into the mix and it is just too much at once.
Re: Marriageable Age!
Then I doubt if that day will ever come. ![]()
Re: Marriageable Age!
@mzprincess88 : You are right. One can't manage studies and marriage together. Education definitely comes first. I hope my parents will understand this, and drop the rishta seeking thing for time being.

Re: Marriageable Age!
I think 19-24 is a perfect age for a girl to get married if you are living anywhere in Pakistan or middle east.
I come from a big family and have seen a lot to say this that sooner the girls get married better it is for parents because in today's society, it is difficulty to find a suitable match and as a result we have matrimonial sites and marriage bureaus'. We can all say I wish, I hope etc sentences but ground realities are different. Personal opinion and I am not judging anyone.
Re: Marriageable Age!
@Batman007 : 19-24. Don’t you think that’s way too young?
Re: Marriageable Age!
don’t know, it came to my head.

The right age for a girl to get married is whenever she is ready to get married! I know way too many girls who got married at 18-22 and now they clearly hate their life cos they feel unaccomplished! Be someone before you get married!
