Ideally it should be like that but there are many reasons why age is such an issue for girls esp:
-Girls after the age of 25 have more chances of complications during pregnancy
-As the girl gets older,she gets used to of more independence and ultimately it becomes more difficult for her to adjust in a new environment+it becomes more difficult for her to lose her independence as is the case after marriage when they have to do jee huzoori of the hubby..
-Guys and their families look for younger girls so their options are reduced.
-no girl can ever say that"yes am ready for marriage now"..I don’t think anyone is ever completely ready for marriage,whereas when u get married u can always handle the good or bad situations as they come regardless of age
there can be many more like religious+societal+cultural issues involved in it..
