I have got quite few mails in my hotmail account from hotmail and some otheres… Do you know how we can market our website through mailing list of hotmail. I mean I search alot on google for marketting through yahoo and msn (hotmail) but I couldn’t find anything good… If anybody know tip to how to then please let me know…

It's a boy..... Well no I am talking about legally sending newsletter... I have heard that hotmail and yahoo provides targetted sending mail for some money... I mean I can target people speaking urdu.... Not spamming, paying for it to yahoo and hotmail...

if you wanna promote, you gotta do the dirty work. Promote as much as possible… from putting a sticker on a windshield of your car to whatever… but these are just ideas…

Putting on car will give you a ticket? I had it for 2 years and didn't get a ticket. Why would they give you a ticket for having a URL at back of your car?

^ Lol... You see chain letter works if it's something religious or something that can make people forwards it.... I have yet to see some Pakistani Music Website or Pakistani Message Board link to be forwarded as a chain letter.

Well thing is I am reciding in US and website are to attrack Pakistanis, so even if I put a sticker on single (my) car and roam around all NJ then I am pretty sure, I will not be getting more then 2-3 people... I already get 200 hits daily from google adwords but it's not helping me.... I need mass attraction. I want every Pakistani to know about my website. I mean as much as I can let them know... But I don't know how :(

give $10 to a cab drive on devon in chicago to put a sticker ad on his bumber. that should do the trick.

About cab driver sticker… Most muslims exists in california in U.S.A which is I heard about 197,000… You can imagine how many Pakistanis (My target) among those muslims… And even from them how many will have chance to see that particular cab driver… And the situation is even worse in chicago… Sticker might help little bit if I would be in Pakistan but in USA, I don’t think it’s a good idea if target is Pakistanis…
What I need is Online Marketting. I am already taking help of google which is pretty cheap and affordable. How much I pay to google for my adds, I get back almost all of that money through google adds on my site… Almost even, just if I have to pay then I pay 10-12 dollars more a month… My targeted words are those to invite decent Pakistanis (I omitted the dirty words from the list which may give many hits to me but won’t provide me registered active members which I really want)…
now any good advice or help… I have tried alot of thing. I did exchanged links from other websites before but didn’t work… The only think it affected on my site was runined the layout but not much registered members.. I also have tried mailing to all my friends and ask them to make it chain letter but nobody helped… I also tried making signiture on forum (where it was allowed)… It did gave me few members but all were temporary and vanised after coming to forum 1-2 time… I tried giving people more and more facilities like their own website and stuff but very few Pakistani computer literate people out there interested in few mb space for free for a website… Also tried giving free image gallery to users and many other things… Nothing worked out… Now I am taking help of google… It is giving me good hit which none of other method did but problem is it’s not giving me members who stay on board. it’s been a month that I got 200 members within a month but only 4-5 remained active and out of them even 4 ran away only one active left… She will hopefully leave soon when only find moderators to replying to their topics…
Gosh, having a websites it’s lots of habbit. Thing is it’s my favorite hobby to work on website (specially my own)… So neve feel like leaving a hobby… But even making it popular is sooooo hard… Ufffffff…

Hi-Name, the thing is that there are so many free web host providers, no one is interested in it anymore. You were also talking about a picture gallery, which again they might find insecure since they want to store their own images. Now I have recently seen geopakistani opening a blog service which i think is not gonna work…
You see what I am trying to say is, that if you are providing music/audio material to public (no target yet), you must do JUST that. If you wander around and provide more services, the viewer/customer might feel offended by the the busy feel of the site.
Not to turn your hopes down, but you need a viewer friendly site. It seems really busy and its really hard to see what I am looking for or in your case what you want them to see. Its a good start, however, and all you need to do is create a site that people feel welcome on. Another thing to do is keep the ads on the side (i know you are using ad sense) but you need to organize it well. In a way that you could recieve click throughs and also not disturb the content and feel of your site. It will take practice and patience, trust me.
A suggestion you could use to make the viewer feel home is to turn down the shiny green colours. It is really important that you work on colours. Don’t feel shy or a newbe when doing this, but you should jot down whats your target and what kind of colours you have in mind. THen use those colours and ask a friend or a relative to look at it. Sometimes it seems fine but to others, it might be to bright and offending, causing them to leave. Other thing is to compliment your forum’s look with your website. Right now, it looks like its a different site when a viewer looks at it.
Make them feel home. Jot this down, and think of it when you work on the layout.
Another thing to note is that you cannot, never, never get visitors to sign up on your forum by just advertising. If you have something to offer, and you spend a little money and time advertising, they will come crawling themselves…
There is so much to say but no time yaara. What you really need to do is, continue your hobby, and it might become a profession who knows. But hey, I am just giving suggestions here :). Most newbies feel down when they can’t get things to workout… but dedication is the key. Visit forums, read more and more about how to improve your site, until you have mastered it. and then you will feel proud.
Thats why i say, hotmail, yahoo, and cab stickers just won’t do. You need a site thats different and has something to offer. There are a million sites out there. Make yours stand out.
in the end… provide more services as your site grows. That way people will get used to it, and only do it slowly because it is always hard to swallow a big morsel.

Thanks for the suggestion. What you said is 100% true. I also think the same why. About music website. I am gaining lots of traffic daily after advertising through google. within 2 week traffic increased from 50MB/day to 500MB/day. I am not concerned about it much anymore since I believe within few more days it will be more on talk of people. About the look of the music website. It's the first time I am hearing that it's more of offending colour wise. I asked many many people about it and none of them pointed single bad stuff about it. Well it's ok, everybody has their own way of preceiving, may be it's not the color you want to see on website. Everybody has their own opinion.
About message board, ya I know it doesn't matched with paki.ws.. I have tried different layouts for it. But current layout had been most successful in making people to attract and join website so I am keeping this...
Well it's not true that if more people find about the website then it's just a crawl. I have seen that for every 200 Pakistani People visiting my website, 3-7 people do join. But they don't stick to forum since everybody wants really active forum... If some how my forum get too many active members at one time then forum will rock. That's why I was thinking to attract people through newsletter to target urdu people somehow. You ar right that if you offer something special which nobody offers then you make win the bettle... But you see internet game is somewhat different... There is big Pakistani Communities like MuziqPakistan and this Gupshup... They are absolutely offering nothing extra which other people don't but still they are rocking. All I need is just to let more and more Pakistanis to know about the comminity and the work is done. But I can't get the way how. Working on Mail service now may be it works but I think it will take almost a year for me to launch it... Within that time I still want to let more and more Pakistani People to know...
