Either they are not considerate, not aware, or too stubborn.
rest times my phones are on silent, annoying callers are blocked.
caller id allows me to answer or not answer.
and yes I can possibly turn off the doorbell, but sadly these people know how to knock :frowning:

at no point did I blame ‘them’ ..thats a completeky different topic and can be addressed in a separate thread.

I have only questioned whether their approach is considerate or even effective. as niksik stated, could be a kirby salesperson or a college magazine subscription scam artist, or jehovahs witnesses..in their mind they are trying to come for your benefit too.

If they come for me and my benefit, then maybe they can do it in a manner where the likelihood they will see me is high. Lets say someone travels for work, which I do quite often, they can come on the hour but I will not be around, if they call me, or mail a brochure that they are in town, or even leave a note when they come by, would they not be doing more to try and benefit me. :slight_smile:

Do you see no opportunity for these groups to try and incorporate different approaches?

For their approach:

Yes, they seem stubborn and in the zeal of ‘helping’ others, they use these measures. But, two or Three bells, they go away if no response.

(That is what I would do and expect for any unwelcoomed ‘guest’. I hate when people come un-announced myself or say, we are in the aea, can we stop by? :mad:-)

Plus, they may not get the reply back when leave a message so they feel like trying their luck and at the risk of being called rude by few, they take chances on those who will out of courtesy listen to them and go with them.

Old sales persons technique. If even 50% get their message and other 50% did not, they have a house in heaven..a big one!

right message, to the right audience, at the right time, using the right channel.

all stats show it produces significantly better results than other approaches.

they got many educated people.....as the time passes...they will reach the upper ranks (policy making positions)....and i think they will start doing this then........only a matter of time...

It's not that easy in Pakistan to see them off your door, first they will give a long lecture on how evil kaafirs are and how Muslims are suffering all around the world (they really think you don't know that) and you can't even yawn on that or you'll die.
Then after they finish the lecture, they will ask for money in return for saving yourself from dozakh ki aag :)
On one occasion when I said I couldn't pay anything as I had just given money to a charity, they said I had committed a gunnah and I can undo that gunnah by paying them :D

I've never heard of such a thing, and we've moved to a lot of different cities. They don't ask for money, and that is not for them to do. Jamaat rule is: you can't talk about the punishment, only the benefits because your trying to bring people close to Islam, not scare them away. I really think people need to understand tabligh before they judge it, and attend it with people who have knowledge about Islam. I know there are all there are people in Jamaat who claim everything is haraam and so on, but like anything else there will always be people who like to twist and turn things
