marketing/sales advise to tableeghi jammat types

Re: marketing/sales advise to tableeghi jammat types

So I'm not the only one who enjoys reading Zarvan's posts :p

Re: marketing/sales advise to tableeghi jammat types

he is NOT banned…that’s his title that he chose to put up under his user ID some months back…he is alive and well on GS  so, don’t despair! :cb:

Re: marketing/sales advise to tableeghi jammat types

I wonder Pir Sahib if you would make the same rule for Izraeel............

He does not even bother to knock!............

He simply comes in un announced.............:D

Re: marketing/sales advise to tableeghi jammat types

As someone who's seen them since I was young and who appreciates the efforts they make, I agree with most of your points. If you have told them that you would like them to call first/make an appointment, then I don't think it's unreasonable to expect them to do accordingly. They should use better judgement in terms of time to visit someone and talk to them. Otherwise I've never personally found their showing up unannounced to be a problem. Whenever they come to my house, we serve them tea/coffee and biscuits and get to benefit from their reminder. Frankly with all the other stuff people try to shove down others' throats, I'd gladly listen to these guys instead.

As for the kids telling you about the house where they get together for isha, people also used to come to us and invite us to a house where the brothers of the locality are getting together to pray in jamaat. I've seen several masjids established through this type of effort, so all things considered, I think it's a good thing.

Re: marketing/sales advise to tableeghi jammat types

I just want to add couple of free advises too

  • Ring the bell/knock the door three times. If there is no answer, its OK to LEAVE
  • DO NOT, I repeat DO NO, bang the door like crazy @ 3pm in june/july (in Pakistan). Its the time most of the people are relaxing or taking nap.

and before many of you judge me and label me as Kafir, I have no doubts about their intentions but its the techniques they use. I have many relatives (young and old) who go on these Jamaats and I always have same discussion with them.

Re: marketing/sales advise to tableeghi jammat types

^ his house his rules.

Re: marketing/sales advise to tableeghi jammat types

Its your loss :naak: I know they knock at odd hours but they don’t come inside your house. They are just trying to share some hadees or some islamic knowledge , they are not even preaching you. I know sometimes people like me or my husband do mind odd hours but we only open doors because we will get sawab from ALLAH SWT and sometimes we don’t have time to listen ahadees this way we can. Its just your intentions or your thoughts.

Re: marketing/sales advise to tableeghi jammat types

I haven't seen them force anyone. As far as spending time away from family, I've seen many people separated from their families for even longer periods than TJs for the sake of both work and studies.

Re: marketing/sales advise to tableeghi jammat types

Some how I tend to agree with x2 on this .... their etiquettes rather make Islam to look as a compulsion ..

Re: marketing/sales advise to tableeghi jammat types

I thought that the stars and supporting cast actually did a really great job. Bella’s friends were engaging, funny and they played their roles very naturally. Billy Burke was low key and very good as Bella’s father, Kristen Stewart did a decent job, and I have to say that despite his severely sculpted eyebrows and uber-funky hair that I liked Rob Pattinson’s portrayal of Edward Cullen. I don’t know how closely the way he played the character matched the version in the book, but I thought that his uncertainty and awkwardness in light of how powerful he really was made him quite charming.

Re: marketing/sales advise to tableeghi jammat types

But the US never presented hard evidence on OBL masterminding 9/11. How is that even possible?

Re: marketing/sales advise to tableeghi jammat types

I’m not sure you understand the gravity of the situation.

The statistics say it all. The blue whales of the Antarctic are at less than 1 percent of their original abundance, despite 40 years of complete protection. Some populations of whales are recovering but some are not.

Only one population, the East Pacific grey whale, is thought to have recovered to its original abundance, but the closely related West Pacific grey whale population is the most endangered in the world. It hovers on the edge of extinction with just over 100 remaining.

Recent DNA evidence shows that the impact of commercial whaling may be even worse than previously thought.

Re: marketing/sales advise to tableeghi jammat types

I also dont have any problem with tabgleeghi jammaat or what they think they are trying to do. I do find their tactics annoying, wasteful and in some cases their thinking very limited but i dont hate them.

I remember the mohalla in Pakistan when you see little kids running and then older, u knew who was approaching your area :)

thats better than if they started showing up everyday..with flowers.

Re: marketing/sales advise to tableeghi jammat types

The last time I checked these 'laws' as you call them were not made by me, but narrated by the prophet himself.

Look, I may disagree with them on their views but its not personal. I am merely pointing out that their approach needs to get with the program. not only would it be appreciated by most people, they may get better return on their efforts as well.

Agree with the masjid building part, we have one in the immediate area, I have been involved in that before the land was bought, although not on some board or anything.

Re: marketing/sales advise to tableeghi jammat types

it is my loss…if they show up at times I can not talk to them, or am not home, then I am unable to be there to share some hadees or some islamic knowledge , I cant open door to get sawab from ALLAH SWT.

so in order for me to get all the sawab, they must come at a time that I am home or am available. as i noted earlier, even if I am free I dont bother to go check who is at the door, could be jehovahs witnesses, could be kids selling magazine subscriptions, so its not against them only. and if they come at a time I am not home then it does not do anyone any good except for the oil companies because they burned some gas coming over, and power company for the electricity they used ringing the doorbell.. what else does it really solve?

no matter how great your intentions…if you are not at someone’s place when they are around, does it accomplish anything.

Re: marketing/sales advise to tableeghi jammat types

:rotfl: gidsa and rizla :omg:

Re: marketing/sales advise to tableeghi jammat types

Tablighi people are kind nice and considerate.

Phone rings at home when people sleep, but no one talks about them. :frowning:

Besides if sleep is so important then, silence the bell and pull the phone cord. Praaablem solved.

Why blame sincere people?

They do not come for

chanda,
donation,
college fund…by nerdy looking fake college student to go overseas for fake social/humanitarian task and the age old brochure hiding behind their back tucked in the jeans when ringing the bell.

They come for YOU and YOUR benefit. No response, and they go away.

Re: marketing/sales advise to tableeghi jammat types

tablighies are indeed a source for ajr and sawab. Allah commands to respond to calamities with sabr.

Re: marketing/sales advise to tableeghi jammat types

As an exemlary act one must read your posts with sabr and tahammul. Never laugh as I do as a sinner. Astaghfirullah. Tuaba Meri Tuaba.

Re: marketing/sales advise to tableeghi jammat types

Oh people people don't get all judgemental and all. It's not like all of you open the doors and arms when the tableegh men knock at your door. Be honest here. How many of you send your kids or wives to the door and come up with some excuse that this isn't the right time?

Yes they are doing an amazing job of helping muslims restore and rejuvinate their faith. I don't think the OP was denying that. He was merely suggesting ways how they could be more effective.

Really, I would be a little hesitant to accomodate anyone, be it a tableegh person, a Kirby vacuum salesperson, anyone, if they came unannounced. It's normal isn't it? I mean you could be in the middle of organizing your closet after days and days or putting it off, or you could be just getting ready to put your little one to sleep. You may not be at the frame of mind to receive any teachings. I think they could use some pre-planning..something as simple as maybe distributing flyers to say they will be making rounds on Sunday afternoon in your neighborhood so please be available for a few minutes. I know many folks will disappear during that time, but many people will welcome them happily if they were expecting them.
