Thanks! but I am really amazed to see so much criticism on Marina!! on her looks, physique and hair..blah blah!! so all on this thread should carefully see my detailed thoughts on the BIRTH, RISE & SHINE of Hasina's MARINA for Pak-Showbiz scenario from 1984-85.

Indeed it is amazing to read so much criticism on someone who has given so much to the Paki-Showbiz world in a very short span of her career !!!!!!!!!!!
It was sometime in 1981-82 when I was Manager of United Bank Limited, Khayyaban=e=Shamsheer Branch at that new and then--almost scary Defence Authority Phse-V with literally no soul in sight--when I was asked to open this branch after a study that his area will conquer all in terms of its business growth---and how right were we--for Kh.E.Shamsheer today is as busy a street or road as SADDAR Karachi with every kind shop, outlet, eat out, palatial houses-surrounding it.
I distinctly remember that day of 1981-82 when a very handsome smartly clad gentlemen alongside his beautiful wife, a young handsome son and a beautiful daughter walked in the branch---whom, as the manager should- I approached and guided them towards my open chamber.
*The gentlemen--who by his looks looked so--introduced himself as *Sahabzada Rehman Khan having, a few weeks back, optionally retired as Air Vice Marshall from PAF. Continuing, he inroduced his British wife Ann Rehmat Khan , his son Zarak Khan and finally....his beautiful daughter... MARINA REHMAT KHAN. **
The AVM, having shifted from Peshawar to Karachi--had purchased a house at Khayyaban e Tanzeem and wanted to establish his account with my Bank.. which was duly attended to..and since that day....he & his entire family have remained UBL's client at the KSB-DHA V.
Since I had become their personal banker (the trend originally set by the Father of Modern Banking in Pakistan---AGHA HASAN ABEDI)... AVM and his family trusted us and often visited for transactions...and my observations on a very quiet and to herself........MARINA KHAN one day broke the silence by seeking her opinion on Paki TV scenario of then? "PLEEZE...I can never be interested in that stuff and it's simply not my cup of tea" was the first response from MK...which made me tell her Dad "AVM....I can bet here that if you allow Marina to try her luck at the PTV.....she'll create a blast through her acting--in no time" and AVM who is a rather robust and a free minded gentlemen said "I have no probems....she can try her luck!" to which MK outursted "Welll...? excuse me!!! I make my decision..and this acting stuff in not my cup of tea....I just cant do it.....its not in me!" and it was THEN that I told MARINA KHAN (which she has expressed in quite many of her interviews...) "Marina Bibi...Jiss Din Aap TV Dramoun Mein Aaeingi....woh Pakistani TV dramay kay leeay aik sang-e-meel hoga..and there wll be looking back for you for you shall rise and rise" *and she reverted in high tone"AND...what exactly makes you say that...Sir?"* I told her that I see a lot of talent in her waiting to be explored......and that she should at least give an audition?
Thereafter---within a few months, Marhoom Shahzad Khalil (our Baddo's husband) the then Program Manager PTV-K was given the assignment of producing a long play on (my neighborhood buddy) RASHID MINHAS (Shaheed) under the famous series of NISHAN-E-HAIDER of PTV where he took Marina's audition for an almost silent role of Rashid Minhas' fiancee.
After RMS under NH... Shahzad got Hasina's mega project TANHAIEYAAN and there wasn't even one minute thought given by all present at PTV then...n taking shots on MK for he role of one of the two sisters the other being Shahnaz Sheikh (still under heavy dose of popularity in UN KAHI) and that was the taking off point of MARINA KHAN....who I can proudly say with cogent reasons---has played a huge role towards the progress of Pak-Showbiz (TV) scenario most befittingly.
At the peak of her stardom, MK fell in love with Jalil Akhtar (we call him Kucchhu) and married him--though to some disdain of her Dad--who eventually accept the bare fact. Her brother--my next door neighbor at our complex BON VISTA at Clifton---now flies PIA Jumbo 747 as a Co-Pilot. Her parents celebrated their Golden Jbilee Wedding anniversary earlier this year.....which also speaks that MK is of a matued age and an accomplished lady in many ways.
Her morning show on ARY has a different format then that of our rival channel GEO's NKS...but if we deeply look into both the shows---there is no rhyme or reason that MK's be criticised for her figure or off white or greyish hair????? for I know a very large number of people who like her get up--which gives a certain kind of soberiety to the show--as per its format--and having said that, I also note that MK speaks less--to give the chance to her guest to speak (which should normaly be done in such shows) and also...it will be noed....that MK does not present herself to be a pundit or jack of all trades!! She usually tends to ake her point tactfully without being blatant about it that her guest may not be left bewildered or speechless.....or desiring to say something.
Marina and Jalil are issueless--yet BUT their house at Khayyaban-e-Momin is full with inhabitants; some 21 CATS and 12 DOGS....all iving happily as a lark......!!!!!!! :)
Lets all wish Marina Khan a very good luck for her thee mega productions she is currenty getting ready to Direct for Humayun Saeed (in USA) and for ARY....starting right after EID AL FITR.
IF anyone has a particular question for MARINA KHAN...pls pass it to me...I'll ensure that he gets it and extends a reply or her thoughts on same--but the question should not be of persnal nature....it should be of quality pertaining to her performances of past and on her MK show of ARY.

decent she is, but two issues:
1-she needs to get over her angraizi/urdu dilemma,
2- she needs to stop waving her arms in mid-air through out the program.

Read my detailed summary on MK again...you may find an answer between the lines---like her mom Aunty ANN being a British by birth. Plus MK is from a Convent--and her URDU otherwise is classic --and should be for plays and serials she has done are a cogent example of her good Urdu.
Her habitual dialect being English--actually is not a deliberate show.. it just somehow pops up...like it does with me..during interviews and even during acting (my plays of sixties and seventies are example) on befitting situations---and I thought that's natural.
**Nevertheless--I'll point that out to MK during our next show she again wants me to come after EID. **
