Re: Maratha - Mughal Wars
ninja when it comes to power, there is no concept of saga. The first thing that is killed in wars is human relationships ![]()
Re: Maratha - Mughal Wars
To make a combined force against Marathas? ![]()
Re: Maratha - Mughal Wars
Its not war brother.....i think the struggle for power generates selfishness......
thats why lot of soldiers nicely with POW's.....have you heard that during WW! or WW@ german and british troops in some parts declared ceasefire to celebrate christmas....:D

To make a combined force against British
Re: Maratha - Mughal Wars
Ninja struggle for power goes through bloody wars. What do you mean by POW?
Re: Maratha - Mughal Wars
Prisoner of wars…![]()
some times without going to war they just kill or threaten their predecessors …
just read about current ruler of qatar…![]()
Re: Maratha - Mughal Wars
Ok coming to the topic, what do you think was Marathas point of view for fighting such long wars. I read Jehangir praising Marathas in his memoris as under:
a very hard race of people, who are great movers of opposition and strife
Re: Maratha - Mughal Wars
*THIS *
and the guy is revered as hero(i use to be one of them as kid) who killed his own sibling and imprisoned his father....
in someway we can compare Aurangzeb to tipu sultan, use to be a very big fan of him especially with that sanjay khan serial on DD 1 that is until i met my mallu friend
Blame our CBSE books for that they conveniently overlooked these things, except Aurangzeb's Kashi vishwanath temple they didn't mention any such bulldozing of temples, so that young mind don't fall in hatred and consider muslim rule was boon and british rule was evil:D
Nearly 60,000 temples were demolished during muslim rule against none by british:) but again that doesn't justify pulling down Babri mosque:(
Now whats the reality behind Tipu Sultan? Never thought that he would be as controversial as Aurangzeb.
Tipu forced Nairs in Kerala to convert to Islam by forcing them to eat beef:), when he took title pf Padshah he demolished one temple in mysore and coverted it into mosque, even Hyder was very cruel to Coorg poeple, Tipu destroyed many temple and Dharm Bhrasted many Nairs in Kerala, where Islam came throgh Arabic traders and Hindu-Muslim relations are the best to this date:)
I hate Ashoka for same reason he too killed his siblings....
And thats what raghujinath peshwas wife did killed nephew of her husband....:D
some times i hate both kaurav and pandavas for attacking there own cousins.......:D
Shahrukh murdered Asoka:D, Ashoka killed 99 brothers, as if Maharaja Bindusar only did one type of labor day and night to produce those 99 men:D, it is buddhist folklore that presented demonic ashoka and then greatest ashoka because he converted to Buddhism. Besides Ashoka has praised his brother in his charadrgiri edict and edict XVIII in Afghanistan too.
Similarily wife of peshwa Raghujinath is similar to Rani Zeenat mahal, wife of Zafar, Zinda Peer Sahab is still unmatchable, because even after war Pandavs didn't jail their Tayaji, Maharaja dhitrashtra but Zinda Peer did it far more brilliantly by telling whole world his drunk father is no longer muslim but the product of wine Hazrat Miyan Aurangzeb is:D

Both power were rising they would have clashed even if both of them had different religion:), Aurangzeb was Wahhabi hence Shivaji jumped to Hindutva, he has to fight two front one of Mughal and another was Adil Shah empire of Bijapur:)
Re: Maratha - Mughal Wars
i read an essay by a hindi author and he gave all logical reasoning..that Pandav changed name of suyodhan to duryodhan...
he said how can any parent name their child duryodhan..........:D
Re: Maratha - Mughal Wars
This is why I want everyone to read mahabharat, it is story of earthly politics, none of them were good charaters, all charaters in the story are grey, mix of both good and bad, including Pandavs:), Only Bhagwan Krishna is revered, I haven’t seen any hindu worshipping Pandavs:confused:
the above example is that winner writes history, mahabharat is first to tell, about politics of power in detail:k:, my maasi says, mahabharat implicitly says “take sides first, right and wrong is relative to the side you are on:D”
Re: Maratha - Mughal Wars
This is the picture from 1795, all of current Pakistan is being shown as Afghans, where as most of central India was marhattas and the western india, i.e Rajhastan and Punjab are shown as Rajputs.
Re: Maratha - Mughal Wars
and kauravs were first to go to heaven before pandavas
Re: Maratha - Mughal Wars
who told this? why?
Re: Maratha - Mughal Wars
Mughals were no where? It raises another question which I think over most of the time. After the death of Aurangzeb in 1703 till 1857 (surrender by the Last Mughal Bahadur Shah), More than 150 years and there is no important figure in Mughal dynasty we know. Our syllabus books while introducing British Raaj say one line ‘After death of Aurangzeb, Mughal weakened that gave way to British’ ![]()
Re: Maratha - Mughal Wars
Well said. But who besides, Aurangzeb was involved in bulldozing temples?
Thats a new piece of information for me. He is portrayed as a pious personality in our books.
Shahrukh Khan killed Ashoka.. I’ve heard he is going to do the same with Bajirao ![]()
Wahabi is a phenomeno of later centuries. Aurangzeb though had similar ideology. Regarding Shiva Ji, I’ve read that he was not that religious and used religion for political purposes like Aurangzeb.
Re: Maratha - Mughal Wars
This picture is from the Durrani Empire 1747-1826 Durrani Empire - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
and then came Ranjit Singh from 1801 to 1847 and he conquered whole of Punjab, KP and Kashmir.
Re: Maratha - Mughal Wars
Muslims like Shah Wali ullah asked for the help of Durrani against Marhatas. They came, loot the masses, got status of heroes for Muslim historians and went away with their loot including Koh e Noor. :(
Re: Maratha - Mughal Wars
Several decades ago we had gone to ooty there is todatribe that worship pandavas
Re: Maratha - Mughal Wars
I have read somewhere that Ahmed Shah Durrani (the father of modern Afghanistan) was born in Multan but not sure about its factual position.
