Pakistan was made because, muslims prior to '47, wanted a separate islamic state where they could practice the most sensible religon in the world and get away from paganism/idolism.
Bangladesh came into being because east Pakistan was not in direct contact with West Pakistan and hence it was nearly impossible to defend it efficiently. There is a coorelation with Baloch that the Bangalis wanted to separate too and it was granted to them due to geographical problems. I assure you that if East Pakistan was not separated by another country with W. Pakistan, there would be NO SUCH COUNTRY called Bangladesh.
In regards to life1, the ladies have their modern/western opinion and Aneel Khan has his traditional/Pakistani mentality. Its a matter of perspective. To each his/her own.

I kinda knew all of this but that doesn't really answer my question as to why Pak shouldn't be split. I personally believe that it should stay as one but I can c the reasoning behind as to why they would want a split.

Orakzeystar: I am a muslim first, then Pakistani, and then a Pashtun. Don't get me wrong, I'm damn pround to be Pashtun but the idea of NWFP separating from Pakistan is not an option.
I curse those who think that being Pashtun makes them better than everyone else. If anything, we have the most deficiencies in all of Pakistan; a sad but true fact.

Well for starters you should know that the major pashtun heroes were agaisnt it(faqir-i-ipi ring a bell). Perosnally I just want Afghan/pakhtun unity, the division has destroyed and I frankly can't trust the pakistani government, shumaali itihad, wahabi arabs (may OBL and hameed gul burn in hell). Oh yeh the famous writing of Khushal Baba about pakhtun/afghan unity, and logic itself.
I also want Pashtun unity but NOT at the cost of separating from PK. If, Allah na karay, it happens our community will go further backwards and suceeding/creating a name for Pashtuns will be an impossibility.
why not, if you know ntohing about history you are bound to repeat it. Look why is it that the british didn't return the land back to Afghanistan. What logic was there in not giving it back, I mean we pakhtuns would have been the absolute majority, the ciuntry is named after us, the hisory ours, our forefathers fought to defend it.
Why not? What future do we not have, we had Afghanistan before that didn't we? If the british and russians didn't enter we wuld have had better improvement (however this doesntnegate the problems we have brought upon ourselves).
