I love manual, I don't like Automatics, I especially don't like those gay gearboxes like tiptronic and touch tronic.
both my cars are manual and I love them, on the other hand - Porsche Triptronics, Audi DSG's, Lamborghini's E-Gear, BMW's SMG, Aston Martin's TouchTronic, driven them all and I can assure you that non of them could hold up a candle to the proper mans gearbox -- a manual gearbox--, while the Porsche Tiptronic and Audi DSG's are fine, I kinda like the DSG gearbox for its seeming less 20 millisecond gear changes but other then that its not a very lively gearbox and that sense control isn't there, it feels like you're pressing the L2 and R2 buttons on the Playstation controllers.
now coming to the STUPID flappy paddles (Ferrari's F1 Gear box & Lambo's E-Gear), as a track toy they work, maybe even better then a stick shift but every where else they FAIL, especially while reversing a car, unlike an ordinary transmission where the car starts to slide backwards and you could just simply park it, no problem at all, where as in a Ferrari F430 F1 all thats gonna happen in reverse gear is that you're slowly going sail forward or reverse up so fast into the wall/car and crash, or in the case of a cliff? well you just srot of get killed, the Lambo E-Gear is even worse, it is almost impossible to reverse up a slope with any dignity, and certainly not without making as much noise as a GP car. All this while travelling 20 yards at 0.05mph.
Manual Transmission FTW!.
