Anyone know the recipe for the homemade mango ice-cream we used to make back home in the aluminum ice trays?

I dunno but I mixed leftover mango pulp with hagen dasz sweet chai latte ice cream

Oh that stuff was goooood! My mom used to make it. I think it was basically very thick mango milkshake frozen. Yum yum.

These days we just get a bucket of vanilla icecream and mix a can of mango pulp in it. That's very yum too.

this is how I make mango kulfi and LOVE it

1 can condensed milk
1 can evaporated milk
2 slices of white bread
20/25 badaams
20 pistas
1 tablespoon of shredded coconut
1 pint whipping heavy cream
half can of mango pulp

Blend it all in a blender for atleast 5-7 minutes. Once blended well. pour it in plastic containers or kulfi and make sure the lid is tight and freeze them!

I have made mango ice cream using the following recipe by showmethecurry cooks and it turns out really delicious:

Ingredients:

Mango Pulp – 30 oz can
Sweetened Condensed Milk – 14 oz can
Whipped Topping – 8 oz container
Fresh Mango – cubed, optional

Method:

  1. In a big bowl pour in the Mango Pulp, Condensed Milk and the Whipped Topping.
  2. Fold them in very well but very gently.
  3. Pour into a dish with a tight fitting lid.
  4. Cover and place in the freezer for 2 hours.
  5. After 2 hours, mix in the cubed Mango pieces and return dish to the freezer.
  6. Allow it to freeze for another 3 hours or so.
  7. Serve and enjoy!

Tips:

  1. Fresh Mango plup can be substituted for the can.
  2. Add in Tutti-fruiti, nuts, saffron or cubes of cake for a variation.
  3. Great make-ahead dessert.

I have made the most easiest mango ice cream and it was just delicious!

Ingredients:
mango puree - 1 cup
Whipped cream - 1 cup
sugar - as required (4-6 tbsp should be enogh)
4 Egg yolks (or if want lighter, then use egg whites)
Lemon juice - 1-2 tbsp
Vanillah essence - 1 tsp

Recipe:
Beat egg yolks well until creamy. Slowly add sugar and beat. Add lemon juice and vanilla essence, mix. In a separate bowl whip the cream until peaks are formed. Fold in mango puree and mix with light hands. Add this in egg-sugar mixture. Mix well with light hands. Place in an air tight box and freeze. When half way frozen, take out, beat and place again in the freezer. Enjoy when done :D

This is a very basic mango ice cream. Variations of course can be done light adding mango pieces, coconut powder, nuts etc etc. I used fresh mango puree and a little coconut powder (around 1 tsp)

the best mango icecream was what polka brand (now walls) used to sell in pakistan in 90s....those cups or the big slab...now walls does it too...yum yum..delicious
