Re: Malik's captaincy
^ On the contrary.... a thorough drubbing from Australia is always expected, so it won't lead to Malik's resigning. Inzi got a similar drubbing but didn't resign. Heck, even Akram got a 3-0 drubbing in 1999 but didn't resign.
Appreciate what you are saying but the situation is slightly different this time around. In 2004 Inzi missed the last two tests thru injury and Yousuf (who's equally thanda & hardly inspirational) took over as captain. Inzi was very much the best choice then and hence there was no public outcry. Since that series Younis has grown in stature as a batsman and has already shown immense potential as a leader in various short stints as stand-in captain. Malik knows he is captain by default and that his deputy is not only a better batsman than him but also a better leader of men. So the public and the media are bound to call for a change if we suffer another humiliation in Australia.
Barring a miracle we should prepare ourselves for a 4th successive 3-0 whitewash at the hands of the Australians!
