Male or Female Gynecologist?

As a result of a discussion I recently had, I’m curious to know with regards to the females out there, how many of you would have no problem going to a male gynecologist, taking into consideration our culture. What would you prefer? Most countries have both male and female gynecologists, but what would you do if you were in a country with a majority of males in this practice, and had no choice?

i have a female GY , but when my daughter was born she was on vaccation , and a male dr was there, but i refused to have him deliver the baby, so then he stayed out side my delivery room all geared up to come into the room if something went wrong and all trainee female doctors and a lot of very experienced nurses were in my room to deliver the baby , and Allah ka shukar hai, that my daughter was born without complications.
i hope that answers your Question, but if its a matter of life and death then it dosent matter , other then that i want only female

a berry good question, I don't know yet what I will do!

I don't think professional gynaecologists are interested in genital parts(sexually) of either sex while performing treatment.

Lol...I once read news, some 15 school girls died in a fire in Saudi Arabia just because men are not allowed to touch girls...so no one could save them from the blaze.

Its a cultural lol... :)

Yes, but that's not the point. The point is from a patients point of view. How comfortable would she be going to a male gynecologist.

Never in my life would I go to a male gynecologist, unless he was my husband

Fair enough

First off I would NEVER marry a gyno :hehe: 2nd Fret I know this one guy he is a obygn, he is in his mid 30’s now and says he will never marry, I wonder why

2nd, first off yaar I HATE docs all together :D. However I am so uncomfortable with a female doc, so I guess a male one would be a no no for me

:hehe:

As usual i agree with Majestic :k:
well, i had one of those annual physical checkups scheduled at my university’s clinic. There was a six-month waiting list, so finally after waiting for what felt like ages - i was one week away from my appointment, when the receptionist called to tell me their only female doctor wouldn’t be able to make it that week (some emergency or something). There was a male one available, that was my only option - or i had to wait another six months to schedule another appointment. i had no options, i couldn’t bring myself to go through with it - it would have felt extremely uncomfortable so i cancelled the appointment :o

The hospital my sister works at, all the famous, well known professor are all MALES. People want males because they think they are well experienced and dont get nervous and all that stuff. Most women want their doctor to be male.

Didi told me about this one female gyn doctor who gets her cases done from another male doctor (probably a colleague) and doesn't do it herself. She, gets too nervous is not bold enough, yet she's a consultant who gets paid like 40-60K for just one case. The patient never finds out if it was the doctor they paid or some one else, who delievered the baby. (they have this chaadar on women legs when they are delivering something like that, so they can't see whoever is working on them)

i would prefer a female GY, its kinda funny but u cant just go and show ur stuff to an unknown man, but even with a female one, it would be weird....

i wouldnt feel commfortable with a male GY regardless of my culture/religion, i would be much happier although i still wouldnt be easy with a female GY.

Lawless, you’re one desperate chick. :nono4:

eh?

or may be the male doctor is hiding and working from under the bed.

Hey what u guys r talking about. It is the matter of experience and competence, not the sex of the doctor. Doctors have to see about 30 patients in their clinic, so they are not interested sexually in their patients genitals.

That's not what this thread is about. It's about how comfortable girls feel going to a male gynecologist.
