precisely my point atlantis, the topic was about pakistanis being denied jobs in malaysia, but certain ppl like mr.fraudia went about how indians work like dogs (hey, never knew that the dog was an honorable animal but aren’t dogs in the same bracket as other haram animals like pigs???) and later went into super-defensive backfoot mode by claiming to be champion of the indian laborer- in-the-middle-east’s cause.. fraudia saheb, i still insist that it was not a good idea to talk about indians when there wasn’t a need to… it was a needless diversion, whether u agree or not. and please do not indulge in ultra-scum slinging by inverting my own statements..
and yes, i know sour grapes means khatte angoor but saying something in ur mother language amplifies the effect of the original phrase… is “son-of-a-pig” as offensive as “suar-ka-bachcha”?? hope u got my point
**but certain ppl like mr.fraudia went about how indians work like dogs **
yet again. working like a dog means working hard. if you cant get this in your head then I cant help you. dog is considered a hard working animal. the trm works like a dog means working hard as hell..let me remind you a beatles song “hard days night”
its been a hard days night
and I’ve been working like a dog
do listen to beatles, good band..
its a commonly used english phrase, when my colleague says he has been working like a dog, he is not caling himself a dog (no matter what your impression of dogs is) but that he is working hard as hell.
**(hey, never knew that the dog was an honorable animal but aren’t dogs in the same bracket as other haram animals like pigs???) **
well from an eating perspective even a lion is not allowed. There is a huge diff between pig and dog. but this is not a religious lecture so I will not waste my time.
**and later went into super-defensive backfoot mode by claiming to be champion of the indian laborer- in-the-middle-east’s cause.. **
later? I felt there was a need to elaborate on my statement. thats it
**fraudia saheb, i still insist that it was not a good idea to talk about indians when there wasn’t a need to… it was a needless diversion, whether u agree or not. **
indeed it was not. so lets look back who brought up “India” unnecessarily
nicols john stated “You will find in Dubai most of the professional and manegerial work is done by Indians.”
Then he later stated “Oman has very cordial relations with India.”
Please advise him that he started the diversion. i dont see you getting on his case
ultra scum slinging? your post referred to my “jingoism” and then as continued to whine that bigotry cant be rooted out. dont sling scum and there will be no problem.
and I agree saying things in mother tongue is much better, but then why repeat it in another language.
Now either we can let this topic move forward, and hopefully you understand my position, or we can continue to bicker for no reason. take your pick.
Basically Arabs cannot handle trouble or unrest. They don’t know how to. I’ve seen their heavy-handed treatment of Indians and Pakistanis at airports and other places where the Arab national has to deal with Indo-Paks.
Also, Pakistanis have a reputation of being trouble makers (in Arab eyes). They view Indians and Philipinos as being more docile therefore controllable.
If Arabs had any back-bones, they would be in Jerusalem right now instead of in refugee camps in their own lands.
Malaysian firms also employ a lot of Burmese labour. A Malaysian contractor I know pays his assembley workers $100 per month. That is at least $200 less than what the same guy would earn in Dubai.
Under such circumstances, why would any Paki want to go and work in Malaysia. This is maybe why Malaysians won't employ them, they can't afford it, but will pay lip-service to muslim unity at the next OIC conference
