Malala Yousufzai attacked

Re: Malala Yousufzai attacked

As far as the taleban are concerned, they are a reality, and they have a history…they dont have anything to do with Islam.

They were initially created by the CIA and ISI to fight against USSR in Afghanistan. After the Afghan war, US left the region, with the result all factions of the so called mujahideen began fighting for power.

In 1996 ISI supported taleban militia to try and unify Afghanistan under their umbrella. After the defeat of the USSR, Pakistan started using the same kind of people in Indian occupied Kashmir as well.

I have seen these mujahideen in my university a couple of times. They’d try to convince people to participate in their training camps. One of my seniors (who was in his final year of university) was killed in Kashmir. I have seen the slogans in favour of mujahideen in Northern Punjab all the way to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. We ourselves created these brutal beasts.

After 911, since they were routed from Afghanistan and Pakistan stopped them from crossing the LOC (Kashmir) they turned against the state. For these people only those who follow their brand of Islam are muslims, the rest are all murtads and hence wajib ul qatl…

Most of the renowned leaders of Pakistani taleban have not even graduated from madrassas. They have hardened criminals in their midst. Their main sources of funding include kidnapping for ransom, drugs, and the Afghan Taleban get protection money for safe passage of Nato supplies through Afghanistan.

What ever was the reason for the creation of these animals, they have become a fitna now. If we read the history of kharijites, these guys seem to be them of 21st century.

Re: Malala Yousufzai attacked

A proof that tribals are not equal to taleban, although the taleban might have some tribals (alongwith arabs, chechens, punjabis, afghans etc)…
In a first, FATA jirga condemns Malala attack – The Express Tribune

**GHALLANAI: ****In a first for the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) since the attack on Malala Yousafzai, a grand tribal jirga condemned the murder attempt, offered prayers for the child activist, and announced support for the government in this regard on Sunday.

**

**The Haleemzai tribe’s grand tribal jirga held at Sangar Ghallanai was attended by thousands. The Taliban attack had not been condemned publicly by any prominent individual or group in Fata until now.
**

**Addressing the jirga, peace committee leader Muhammad Ali Haleemzai said that terrorists had destroyed schools and hospitals in the region and were working against their tribal customs, saying they wanted to push the people ‘back to the stone age’.
**

**Haleemzai announced an alliance under the name ‘Qaumi Aman Tarron’ (‘National Peace Alliance’) to safeguard the region against terrorists and terrorism. He said the alliance would be extended to other tribes of the Mohmand Agency and invited all peace committees to participate. Haleemzai said all those involved in anti-state activity and terrorism would be punishable by a hefty fine and expulsion from the area.
**

Addressing the jirga, tribal leader Malik Hidayatullah emphasised that since the tribe has now announced support for the government, it is now the duty of the government to support the tribe as well. He demanded that the government work on development and provide compensation because of the troubles suffered by the militancy-hit region, including infrastructure damage and internally displaced persons (IDPs).

Hidayatullah also lashed out against NGOs working in the area, alleging that vast amounts of foreign funding had been embezzled. He explained that by labelling certain regions ‘no go areas’, the NGOs could use the funds in any way without having to prove that any development has taken place in these regions with the allocated money.

The tribal leader demanded an inquiry into where these funds had disappeared, and pointed out that while the government has relaxed the collective responsibility clause of the draconian Frontier Crime Regulation (FCR) law, it is yet to be implemented in spirit. Hidayatullah also called for the release of all those imprisoned in various jails without any solid evidence.

**At the end of the jirga, Haleemzai prayed for Malala, calling her a ‘brave Pakthun girl’. The jirga was attended by all four major sub-tribes of Haleemzai, including Wali Baig, Hamza Kheel, Kadi Kheel and Kamali Haleemzai.

Re: Malala Yousufzai attacked

brave souls:k:

swat peace jirga also declared war on these taliban and they want the entire nation to stand up against them and condemn them on every platform.

Re: Malala Yousufzai attacked

Today they attacked and and killed SP of rural police.

Then we hear Rehman Malik saying that no attack on N Waziristan is on the cards..

What can you say about this country. American drones kill Pakistanis and everyones ready for jihad, Taliban kill Pakistanis and its a conspiracy on the part of Americans. Its really infuriating.

Then people demand respect for Pakistan... This is what we should respect? Roadkill has more fight in it then this zinda com.

Re: Malala Yousufzai attacked

Malala has reached Birmingham...

Re: Malala Yousufzai attacked

she will be in our thoughts and prayers. wish her a speedy recovery.

Re: Malala Yousufzai attacked

He is after Hakeemullah these days. Sometimes he says I know where you are. Then he inquires after his health asking him if he is ill or injured? Sometimes he urges him to give up militancy and then he says Hakeemullah has lost control over the TTP.

If you are watching some serious news, his statements provide good timeout :)

Re: Malala Yousufzai attacked

Thanks for clarifying, Indik.

Sometimes it is hard to judge the sincerity of some Indian posters and take the sentiment and/or advise expressed in the post on face value.

It is hard to overlook the possibility that the poster is just playing to the gallery but secretly celebrating the troubles of Pakistan.

I say that because I came across at least one post that could be considered offensive by Pakistanis and insulting to Pakistan that you had liked in another thread.

Good sense and good taste would dictate that any Pakistan bashing on a Pakistani forum be left to the Pakistani posters themselves. We are all fully aware that South Asians, in general (and Pakistanis in particular), are quite adept at self-criticism and bashing their respective countries when needed but don’t appreciate when the same favour is imparted by their neighbours. :)

Re: Malala Yousufzai attacked

Look ... the cleanest way to do this is to get a full march in to the area and suffer some losses on the way ... but neither is the army looking to suffer any losses nor is it unhappy entertaining the Americans with their radio controlled plane games ...

Current situations will not result in a simple take over - but a drawn out bloody masacre of tribals on an uneven playing field.

Marching in will also generate sympathy for the tribals ... Pak army and America don't want that ... And I feel more than anything secular strategists want to maintain the status quo in order to continue demeaning Islam ... They want it to come out of the Muslim mindset - to ensure the people are going to be "cleansed" of their religious baggage ...

Re: Malala Yousufzai attacked

^ you are again confusing tribals with taleban...

Re: Malala Yousufzai attacked

First thing first, you will have to ready a political/civil government backup plan ready to put in place as soon as any military action is over. The afghan borders must be sealed to stop cross-border movements. A foolproof rehabilitation and empower plan for the tribals should unfold concurrently with military action. The key here to understand is that the leadership of the TTP must be eliminated, it must not be allowed to flee from one area to settle in another.

Re: Malala Yousufzai attacked

Who are the secular forces your are referring to? And if the do exist, why demonize them like this? Secular forces didnt create this mess, it was the non secular forces who did. Demeaning Islam is not the job of secularists, quite the opposite. Secularists wish to separate religion and politics to save one from the other. If anyone is demeaning Islam, its the non secular forces who cynically use religion further their political agenda.

I mean that whole statement is so dishonest… These Non Secular religious fundamentalist types have nearly destroyed the country, but now accuse secularists of using that destruction, as an excuse to call for removal of non secualrists responsible for destroying the country…

Re: Malala Yousufzai attacked

Good to see these people rallying in support of Malala and against militancy instead of taking refuge in conspiracy theories.

“The Malala moment: Tens of thousands rally in Pakistan for girl shot by Taliban”

Tens of thousands rallied in **Pakistan](http://www.paklinks.com/tags/topic/Pakistan)‘s largest city Sunday in the biggest show of support yet for a 14-year-old girl who was shot and seriously wounded by the Taliban](http://www.paklinks.com/tags/topic/The+Taliban) for promoting girls’ education and criticizing the militant group.

The Oct. 9 attack on Malala Yousufzai as she was returning home from school in Pakistan’s northwest horrified people inside and outside the country. At the same time, it gave hope to some that the government would respond by intensifying its fight against the Taliban and their allies.

But protests against the shooting have been relatively small until now, usually attracting no more than a few hundred people. That response pales in comparison to the tens of thousands of people who held violent protests in Pakistan last month against a film produced in the United States that denigrated Islam’s Prophet Muhammad.

Demonstrations in support of Malala – and against rampant militant violence in the country in general – have also been fairly small compared with those focused on issues such as US drone attacks and the NATO supply route to Afghanistan that runs through Pakistan.

Right-wing Islamic parties and organizations in Pakistan that regularly pull thousands of supporters into the streets to protest against the US have less of an incentive to speak out against the Taliban. The two share a desire to impose Islamic law in the country – even if they may disagree over the Taliban’s violent tactics.

Pakistan’s mainstream political parties are also often more willing to harangue the US than direct their people power against Islamist militants shedding blood across the country – partly out of fear and partly because they rely on Islamist parties for electoral support…

Malala shooting attack on all Pakistani girls: Zadari - geo.tv

Re: Malala Yousufzai attacked

TTP is issuing another 7 page explanation for the attack on Malala.

Re: Malala Yousufzai attacked

^ they say attack wasn't launched for raising voice for education. She was hit for speaking against the Taliban.

I wonder what is their stance on education for girls?

Re: Malala Yousufzai attacked

^ they display their stance every day, hundreds of schools have been bombed during the past few years

Re: Malala Yousufzai attacked

^ So why are they saying that Malala wasn't shot at for her stance on education? Are they on the backfoot and trying to do some damage control?

Re: Malala Yousufzai attacked

^ the thing is that the reason for giving second rejoinder on the issue shows that they are under pressure…

this is the statement of an ex member of Afghan taleban…

Pakistani Taliban Declare War on Media - The Daily Beast

The attack has provoked unprecedented levels of public outrage, both in Pakistan and Afghanistan—even among people who have in the past sympathized with the militants. “First of all, attempting to kill a 14-year-old girl is a low act,” says Mullah Yahya, who was a high-ranking Afghan Information Ministry official back in the 1990s, when Mullah Mohammed Omar’s regime was in power. “Second, claiming responsibility for it is a sign that the [Pakistani] Taliban are not aware of the media’s importance. I have seen more anger against the religious elements in the past week than in all my 40 years of life.”
