So, how about Taliban killing innocent Pakistanis, including men, women and children? From your above statement, it must be also true that killing and maiming innocent civilians, all intentionally done by Taliban, not in hundreds (as the case is with Drones and that also unintentionally) but in 10s of thousands, must be creating anger (against Taliban) and providing easy recruit for Americans and Pakistan army against Taliban?
Well, since drones killed few hundred innocents by mistake unintentionally, they can be excused … especially when Drones are killing enemy of those innocents (enemy because whom drones are killing are intentionally killing those innocents) and helping eradicate parasites who are killing innocent Pakistanis.
Now just imagine that if drones had not killed those couple of thousand most wanted terrorists, mostly those who were leading the killing campaign of innocent Pakistanis, then how many more innocent Pakistanis these terrorists would have killed … obviously more than few hundred that got killed accidently by drones … most likely, terrorists who got killed by drones would have intentionally killed 10s of thousands more civilians. That means drones saved lives of 10,000 innocent tribal civilians by killing those few thousands terrorists.
Calling statements not meeting your point view ridiculous doesn’t change ground facts. Its a fact that Taliban sympathies will be increasing until civil society comes with a proper response like in Malala case. When someone’s son/brother/father/ any other dear relative dies of these drones (say 10% of total casualties), these 10% won’t be ready to listen long sermons in support of Uncle SAM.
