MALAL on HUM TV

Re: MALAL on HUM TV

It can be nice because so far story is interesting according to 1st epi...

can be turned totally into a crap if direction got some weakness ... well lets see

i also think that the story and the direction is amazing but for some reason actors maza nahi day rahay.
wohi imran abbas, wohi sarwat gillani, wohi rest of the people.
i hope they leave a better impression on me through this drama but i just find them really really boring specialy imran abbas. that guy has the same acting skill, hair style, beared style etc since last 7,8 years i have been seeing him on tv and now it's getting really boring.

n yet he is claiming to be under 37 :@:

thats true, there is a similarity between the 2 characters, an innate weakness which eventually takes over their entire character/personality.

its such a simple storyline so far, the complexity is in the characters, they seem to be the driving force in the story (just like 'doraha'). thats what good direction is all about, in my opinion, when the characters become larger than life and instead of giving weird twists to the story itself the drama is created through the gradual growth of these characters, what mehreen jabbar excels at. love it!

Re: MALAL on HUM TV

The direction as well as story line seems something new n nice so far but it will be more interesting if there r some fresh faces in characters it will enhance the plot if the cast was new n different actors :grumpy: it really very boredom with same actors in dramas in every channel now a dayz.

37 :smack:

he was claiming to be 24, when a caller in nadia khan show said he look lik e28 years old he sort of got offended and said he is 24 years old, and i was like are you kidding me, u didn’t like 17 years old when u started tv, i started hating him from that day. i hate liers and i can’t stand guys who hide their age like a teen age girl.

Re: MALAL on HUM TV

^ I didnt watch the show u r talking abt... what I said was the statement of arjay uncle abt him 1.5 yrs back :@:

mehreen ki direction weak nahi hoti..

i totally agree with u…:k:
i hope director n writer both read this thread..

Re: MALAL on HUM TV

so whats our obsession with actors ages?? sure THEY are self-conscious about it but for a reason, our culture is freakin obsessed with age! and belonging to a culture and industry where ageism will effect their bread and butter, who blames them for fibbing??

if actors are making an effort to look great despite their age, it should be admired. they are physically fit, very well-groomed and maintained, bravo! i’d rather watch a capable ‘older’ actor on screen then a 20 something twinkie who cannot put two words together.

i don’t care about age, i just hate the fact that they are lying about being something they are not specially when it comes to their age. hiding your age is something, you don’t want to share it fine. but lying about it just makes me really really mad for some reason. why being a nan’nah kaka is such a big deal to them? just to get teen age girls’ attention? cuz if he tell his right age, only aunties will be attracted to him? those are just some sick unsecurities. for me actor is all about an impressive image, and if i am not impressed by him anymrore for what ever reason i CAN NOT STAND HIM IN DRAMAS EITHER.

Honestly i don’t think our culture is really that obsessed with age, biggest example is bollywood’s 4 khans. two of them are even older then my mom, and people young as their kids are crazy for them, even when they are well aware about their exact age.
in pakistan people love humayoun saeed, faisal qureshi, aijaz aslam etc, they are close to their 40s they never claim to be 24 years old, atleast i have never heard them. yes they do not announce their age, but they don’t lie about it either.

i don't really know about bollywood, I was talking about our local actors...we are definitely obsessed with their ages (lots of examples even on this forum). the big names u have mentioned, people are always wondering about how old they really are, even during interviews there are always innuendos and qs regarding when they started, what yr, what class were they in, who's younger, who's older blah blah i'm talking about the industry itself and our culture as a whole. next time there's a celebrity interview on tv just watch out for it, i didn't just comment on your views, it was a general assessment :)

Re: MALAL on HUM TV

sorry for derailing the thread, so getting right back on track, found these pics from the shooting of ‘malal’ in new york, on mehreen jabbar’s blog. enjoy.

Re: MALAL on HUM TV

thanx for pictures of shooting... nice

Re: MALAL on HUM TV

you are welcome. here’s more

i am sorry if i was a bit harsh in my last post.
i guess you are right, i guess our obsession with people's age is that when they try to hide it we get curious about it. it's a human nature, we always want to know what is being hidden from us.

anyways, bottom line i really used to like imran abbas i thought he was a decent guy and all that, but the day he lied about his age he started to annoy me. now i seriously can't stand him. i really like the first two episodes of Malal, i just don't want to see imran abbas in it.

thanks for sharing the pictures, mehreen jabbas looked really cute. is umera ahmed in those pictures too?

you are welcome, i'm a huge mehreen jabbar fan. i know, she looks really cute, becharay they seem to be freezing in half the pics brrrr!! i don't think umera ahmed was in any of the pics, the captions did not say so at least.

i have no idea how they worked in such a cold weather. i hated new york's winter, specially when u have to wait for the bus or subway train. urgh horrible horrible time of my life. i am so glad i am not in new york, but it really made me appreciate all their hard work.
