so, if a guy makes a 100k, how much can he expect the girl to make?
so, if a guy makes a 100k, how much can he expect the girl to make?
Based on some shocking things I'm hearing these days, probably 300K. So, he can sit back, quit his job, and play on his computer all day.
actually he has a point, if he is making lets say $100K, can he afford to have a $1M home, and buy her a 7 series, fulltime maid, nanny, and lavish vacations. Not to factor in designer clothes and jewelry.
Do you have any idea how quickly that $100K will run out?
X2 - Yup $100K won't take you too far these days. I think the teenagers on this forum should take a home economics class. Some have absolutely no clue how the world works. I just see them getting a quick high by dissing their parents. Don't want to name anyone, but yeah you're such a an adult by dissing your father like that.
Assuming a couple with a three year old kid
$100K
$ 75K (After Taxes)
$ 55K ($20K Mortgage. 2500 sq ft house avg Metro area)
$ 50K ($5K Car Insurance, Home Insurance, Property Taxes)
$ 44K ($6K Petrol, Gas and Electricity etc)
$ 40K ($4k Medical Insurance)
$ 30K ($10K Day Care if wife is working as well)
$ 25K ($5k Groceries)
$ 15K ($10K Assuming a trip back home or vacation)
$ 13K ($2K Cable, Internet, Cell phone)
$ 7K ($6k 529, retirement plan, etc)
$ 3K ($4k eating out, gifts, entertainment)
I could go on but I am sure you guys get the point. Plus if someone is sending money back home, there isn't much to play around with.
Re: Get Your Act Together Boys
13K for Cable, Internet, and Cell Phone
Yeah, if you get every bell and whistle you can possibly get to go along with those.
I need to break out some memon management lessons for you people at some point. That budget is ridiculous.
You people need to marry women who are smart with money. Who created that budget? Jeez.

Thank you sir/mam. Seems like its the first time PCG has seen a diminishing budget.
Re: Making money [split from Get your act together....]
Everything in parenthesis is working with money AFTER taxes? Then the 13K is the equivalent proportion of that money before taxes?
Well if you WRITE things more CLEARER, I think it would be easier to understand!
Re: Making money [split from Get your act together…]
damn! I’m going to have to work 2 jobs. :hinna:
and PCG Thus , you suggested we should marry women - smarter with money !
She would be , if she could read a budget :)
P.S: Not all women find it hard to read - I think we should give PCG a benefit of doubt here :) - despite being a memon , financial management doesn't looks like her cup of tea ..
P.S1: stork , no worries mate !

Re: Making money [split from Get your act together....]
reads like a cut/paste.
Re: Making money [split from Get your act together....]
Such a stupid thread.... measuring relationships in dollars!
Re: Making money [split from Get your act together....]
Yes kakaballi. Money is not important. Only the lack of it is :-)
Re: Making money [split from Get your act together....]
you can never fill the gap between 'wants' and your income. Why bother then?
You can criticize a person for 'lack of initiative' and not 'lack of money' because the later is a result of hard work, luck and circumstances. If one strives for the best, the spouse should be happy, no matter what the financial outcome is.
Re: Making money [split from Get your act together....]
kakaballi - Nothing in your post to disagree with.
Ivy league or not, 6 figure salary or not, girls want someone who has some maturity and temperment. That doesn't necessarily come from an IVY league education. Wasn't it Clinton who cheated on his wife, and where was he educated from?
Education can be from wherever, as long as it had some effect of maturing you into a caring sensitive good human being who understands how to deal with people and work with conflicts.
The jaahil jutt who never handled a significant problem in his life because he never went to school and never built himself as a man is not going to be able to handle even basic saas-bahu jhagray - but the guy who handles human conflict every day and understands human psychology because he got out there and lived a little, probably will.
Maybe that's inaccurate, but from what I've seen there is a pattern with uneducated guys.
I didn't go to an IVY league. My salary coming from where I went to school, with a bachelors, was a joke. Doesn't mean I'm stupid, or I'll make a bad spouse though. I probably have a more solid head on my shoulder than most girls and can probably keep a family together better than most would think. IVY league has nothing to do with it.
i agreeee its not about the degree its about what it represents..it represents that a person has concentrated for 3 or 4 years and has acheived something...and with tht they have learnt many skills which matures the person..its not about earning ability per se...!!!

wow... that's a pretty good deal. I gotta get me one of these Pakistani girls making 300k. so that I can sit back, quit my job and play on my computer all day...
marriage seems to make a lot of sense financially speaking especially if the girl makes 300k to the guy's 100k... how many of these transactions/rishtas have you seen happen in real life thus far?
Re: Making money [split from Get your act together....]
I guess its a bit different when you're single :D
I spend a lot of time at the office so many of the meals are paid by the firm. My entertainment/travel/eating out budget is much higher. Savings rate is higher and bonuses make life sweet :)
Re: Making money [split from Get your act together....]
Single girls' budget:
After living expenses:
handbags and shoes... 40%
jewelery and makeup....25 %
clothes...30%
groceries.... 5%
:D

Dream on honey :) the 300k girl would probably be looking for the 600k man.
