the more telling number is what percentage of those with masters and phds makes over 100K vs the %age of those with bacelors... and at what age..

Actually taking it further there are few additional variables:
It's not the actual degree but the subject that matters. Finance, Engineering, and Nursing compared to Art History, English etc., there is no match. An art history masters will make nowhere near a Finance bachelors grad.
The second area that folks forget is the actual cost of living. In NYC $100K will go no where as far as say Omaha, NE.
The third area is the school. If you compare Chico state with Princeton clearly the difference in starting salaries even at the bachelors level will be stark.
I don't mean to be crass but most Ivy League grads that graduated in the 00's and went into Consulting/I-Banking started in the $50s base + $30-60K bonus. It all went up from there.

Ivy league or not, 6 figure salary or not, girls want someone who has some maturity and temperment. That doesn't necessarily come from an IVY league education. Wasn't it Clinton who cheated on his wife, and where was he educated from?
Education can be from wherever, as long as it had some effect of maturing you into a caring sensitive good human being who understands how to deal with people and work with conflicts.
The jaahil jutt who never handled a significant problem in his life because he never went to school and never built himself as a man is not going to be able to handle even basic saas-bahu jhagray - but the guy who handles human conflict every day and understands human psychology because he got out there and lived a little, probably will.
Maybe that's inaccurate, but from what I've seen there is a pattern with uneducated guys.
I didn't go to an IVY league. My salary coming from where I went to school, with a bachelors, was a joke. Doesn't mean I'm stupid, or I'll make a bad spouse though. I probably have a more solid head on my shoulder than most girls and can probably keep a family together better than most would think. IVY league has nothing to do with it.

Relax lady, I was not correlating a good spouse with the type of education, you are. I'm talking about salary levels and career progression along with the variables involved. For example, an Ivy grad working in journalism vs. State school grad working in Banking - odds are that the Statie will be earning more. These variables are further compounded by the location (and the associated CoL) of the grads. There many more variables that have not been tested, so I didn't mention them.
As for the spouse issue, you take a chance and hope that it works out - no mathematical program will provide with any guidance on the qualitative experience.

With 30K a year, there is absolutely no way you can raise a family in any of the Major Metro Areas. Billings Montana maybe.

But even if we made... combined 40-50K...we'd still live a decent life. then again my definition of decent may be different than yours..
edit: this is based on a couple. the $$s may change when additions are made, i.e., more space, higher cost of groceries, transportations etc.

To be very honest i was making 36k , while doing my grad college on full time basis .. and after that .. You can do the maths ..
That fella is wee bit right as a decent income is considered the one around 80 to 100 k thesedays :)

Averages in the united states per person - its not that high. Most people make well under 80 K. 80-100K would be a dream for MOST people in Miami, I can tell you that.
Pakistanis overall are doing economically well in this country, so 80-100 is probably average for most.
actually he has a point, if he is making lets say $100K, can he afford to have a $1M home, and buy her a 7 series, fulltime maid, nanny, and lavish vacations. Not to factor in designer clothes and jewelry.
Do you have any idea how quickly that $100K will run out?
