Making A Man....

So how did you become the man you are. I am finding turning boys into men is such hard work, requires amazing efforts by parents, friends, and society. Harris is my 14 yr old and we sent him to a training camp in Florida and it seems that 3 weeks made such a big difference in his level of maturity, he seems so grown up now. He is running a half marathon on Sunday for cancer. These things take efforts from so many people, countless volunteers make this possible, Jasons mom helped to pick up the packages from downtown and many volunteers and sponsors are helping with organizing the race.

Re: Making A Man…

For most, having XY chromosomes does the trick. And also not lying about everything.

Who is Jasons mom? Is she the one who is a vegan transgender atheist who vapes and crossfits 4 times a week and is also a male feminist as she identifies herself as a pastafarian apache helicopter mega ultra super combo god of hyper death
or is she the gorgeous mixed race one with black belt?

Re: Making A Man…

Chromosomes gives you lil balls of jello, most girls in our club are stronger than many men you might know. As far as lies, here is how I do it.
7.30 am I have already cooked the raan of lamb, hiked 6k while Raan was in oven, will get my clothes ready for work now, take Harris to his practice at 9, get back at 10.30 and go to work at 11, come back at 6 and watch a movie with Mrs. Only runners get that shirt. Jason is an athlete in our club, his mom is amazing and helps us out a lot, she is a physiotherapist, short and a bit overweight. Her husband Mel was an athlete and is an avid hunter,

And this is a day in making a man.

Re: Making A Man…

I do not have children of my own so I should not be one to speak. In my experience of eight nephews and nieces and nannying countless children though I have learned that children in their formative years learn by seeing rather than listening. This makes sense as from the moment they pop out children take many years to properly understand adult speak. Their eyes however start seeing and processing things from the third week on.

The best way then to make your child a man is to be a man yourself. And make sure he sees you being a man everyday of the first eighteen years of his life. Glad you’re taking just as much part in the events as you’re making him.

Re: Making A Man…

That is so true, one great thing about sports is that they see winners around them and are surrounded by positive influences, I talk to him a lot about his experiences and helps him understand things. Like he would come back from the gym and say Oh dad Jason is so strong and he can bench 165lbs, I asked him why do you think that is and the answer was he is a year older, he eats well and has weights at home. So now he knows what it takes to be strong. Sports is really a bonding thing as well. You drive them to practices, take them out of town, watch their competition stay in hotels etc.

Re: Making A Man…

So I called home and spoke about carb loading before the race, what he eats tonight will fuel the race tomorrow. I am going to make him eat pasta every 2 hrs. Also hydration is crucial and he should hydrate really well the night before. It is going to be damn cold tomorrow morning so he might need leggings. I have a feeling that Jeremy might be in the top, he is the oldest athlete in the team at 17. It is a treat to watch Jeremy he is so dedicated.
My boy is the youngest in the team so I worry about him keeping up.

Re: Making A Man…

Re: Making A Man…

For me it’s my mom’s death and ups & downs in life!!!

On the other hand I am not married but I can sense how tough it is to brought up your children and to educate them morally…

Re: Making A Man…

They are off running in a blizzard will take 1.5 hrs

Re: Making A Man…

He surprised me completed at 57 minutes, older athlete was 48 mins, Coach was 53 minutes and Evan was 51 minutes. Evans dad is doing triathalon in Canmore. Learnt a good lesson in parenting, the brown girls were whinning about running in a blizzard and John simply walked away, no arguments.

Re: Making A Man…

I think you probabbly have a hard time getting up from the couch so pls dont bother with road race

Re: Making A Man…

just explain to me how last night you said this was a half marathon and today it is a triathlon.

LOL

Re: Making A Man…

It was half Marathon today, Evans dad my bud Daniel is training for a huge triathlon in Canmore to be held in July, in the mountains. Our athletes didnt do half marathon, they ended up doing 10k as the brown girls are very young. Daniel was mentioning biking 50k plus running and swimming. Guy is in mid 40s

Re: Making A Man…

a 10K in 57 minutes? FAIL

I would say if you are making things up, why make up this back of the pack slow time? I have a 39:xx PR in 10K and i am a mediocre 10K runner. Keep lying, brah..

Re: Making A Man…

Good grief. You’re worried about whether the race was a marathon or a triathalon? We have more pressing concerns here. Such as why would someone post that they’re Indian and then pretend that they’re not.

Re: Making A Man…

bobby why you not talk about any manhood? specs, sizes, competitions, strength levels etc? How does your son compare to jason and yourself?
