Starting off with the VERY basics which is a flawless canvas (primed skin)
Skin should be clean and moisturized well before applying makeup/foundation. U’re priming and prepping determines the finish as well.. adding an illuminisor will make u’re skin appear dewy and fresh. Mattifying balms and creams work well on people with mature skin/acne prone skin.
Moisturizing confuses me so much:no: .. I have normal skin , i used to put on water based moisturizers but they never give my skin the sheen that I see on people’s faces :hinna:
so I decided to use nivea triple action smooth lotion, which leaves my skin slightly greasy .. and I hate it when there is foundation on top, I feel very heavy on the face ..
Tried a few other moisturizers , but the same case as nivea … perhaps its just me not used to the greesiness on the skin… perhaps i am just mad
My problem is that after quite a while my face tends to look shiny even if i change the moisturiser. So what would be the best shine control product i have tried one by neutrogena but it made no real difference.
CB u can add a few drops of rosewater to u're moisturizer and apply it.. massage it all over using u're fingertips.. and then wipe it off with a damp cotton pad. This way u get rid of the extra.. yet u're skin is prepped for foundation which is creaseless :)
Smashbox Primer (photo finish)
Nars makeup primer (gel cream)
The essential function of a foundation primer is to make the skin ready for the application of foundation. It smooths out fine lines and wrinkles by lightly filling them in and creating a flat, even canvas. It also diminishes the appearance of larger pores by coating them and filling in the uneven skin texture they produce in the skin. Primers also reduce shininess in oilier skin types, and if using a color-correcting primer, it can help even out skin tone and discoloration.
For very oily skin:
Biotherm matifying gel
Dr. Feel Good (benefit)
Givenchy Mister mat ( I love this one!)
naaah probs. forget boots, they are a rip-off and it’s not a cheap moisturiser. you can buy it cheaps on ebay/online, so if you don’t like it you won’t feel too bad. even better if you can somehow test it out.
it’s easily absorbed but has silicones in it like those skin smoothing serums so it gives a smooth sheen kinda look without looking oily.
a lot of people want to be matte though, so they don’t like that about it. oh yea, and less is definitely more, if you put too much on it will just sit there. just a tiny bit with a light touch to massage it in.
‘This is a great moisturizer that’s light, comes with SPF, evens skin tone, and makes skin look luminous all day. It’s not the same consistency as standard moisturizers, so it may take a few applications to figure out exactly how much your skin needs. Laying it on too thick can lead to the greasy or Teflon-y feeling that others have mentioned. Also, let it absorb for a minute or so before putting on makeup. It’s well worth the hassle!’
