So Gina, here in Lahore the products you normally get of are of the following companies: MAC Luscious Cosmetics Loreal Lancome etude medora rimmel red earth oil of ulay nivea
Out of these, which foundations/concealers/creams/lotions would you recommend for the primed skin?
MAC has one DD that u might wanna try.. Im aware of just limited products being available in Pakistan so im not sure if u'll get it there.
yay fab topic Gina ur great :)
My problem is that after quite a while my face tends to look shiny even if i change the moisturiser. So what would be the best shine control product i have tried one by neutrogena but it made no real difference.
U may mix a tiny amount of loose powder into u're fluid foundation, this "soaks-up" excess oil in the foundation this is one option.
U may use a matifying balm (Dr. Feel Good) is my personal favorite because it doesn't dry the skin out.
Keep blotting-paper handy (pre-powdered) one. The Body Shop has the best ones.
hey gina what is the proper way to apply a primer before oe after the moisturizer or alone? also i have dark circles under my eyes n so what color primer/concealer sshould i use?
Just apply u're primer to cleansed and toned skin.. if u use a sunblock apply it before u apply u're primer.
Primers come in gel/cream and spray/mist forms.. use accordingly :)
For dark under-eye circles use a highly pigmented concealer.. that matches u're skintone or is just ONE shade lighter than u're complexion. Follow-up with a dusting of loose powder..

Re: Makeup for dummies~
is this the correct order then? sunblock, moisturiser, primer, foundation... so on? i get so confused whether to put sunB or Moist first!! ok what abt MAC strobe cream, when do i use that. can i put it after moist/primer? i can put it both separately after this or mix it in foundation rite?
and oh yeah, awsum thread G!!
Re: Makeup for dummies~
thx gals for nice suggestions. Please suggest which type of makeup a newly wed should do at home or in dinners
Next is the importance of a concealer :)
A concealer is used either under or over u're foundation and comes in cream/stick forms.
A concealer is used to hide dark-circles, acne marks, any marks. The best concealers work undercover without anyone noticing them
Concealers are more concentrated then foundation and come in various shades and the best one for u is the one that doesn't show-thru.
Typical concealers are made-up of 3 undertones:
Yellow concealer:Used to conceal bluish bruises, under-eye circles and mild red tones on the face
Lavender/Pink concealer: Used to normalize yellow-colored skin imperfections such as sallow complexions and yellow bruises. It can also help conceal very dark under-eye circles and dark spots on bronze skin tones
Green concealers: Used to neutralize red tones on the skin. Use this for covering blemishes, zits, red blotches, rosacea, port-wine stains
This week is dedicated to concealers :)
Re: Makeup for dummies~
great! :)
Moving on.. this week it's eyes.
There are different types of eye-shapes and they play a significant role in applying makeup.
Close-set eyes:
With such type of eyes you should line outer third of upper lids with gray, brown or black liner and smudge gently. You should use a lighter liner on the inner eye if you want to widen the space between such eyes
Small eyes:
For such type of eyes you should draw a dark line with the eyeliner, gradually thickening at outer edge of the eyes. You should use a light colored pencil such as gold, silver, white etc. and draw under the lower lash.
Deep-set eyes:
In case of such eyes you should line the upper lash line with pale, shimmer liner. Then you should line outer edge of lower lash with a soft, neutral shade like gray or taupe etc. Doing this will help you create the illusion of a less heavy lid.
Dropping-eyes:
For such eyes you should line outer third of the eyes very close to the lashes, carefully sweeping the liner up at the corner of the eye.
These are basic do's and don'ts for lining u're eyes according to u're eye-shape.
Re: Makeup for dummies~
