looking Bridal makeup artist/salon-- kinda Bina khan and all the nice flawless skin look types makeup…no cakey thing.. no loud colors..
any numbers, websites, personal experiences and photos should definitely help.. also let me know the price.. currently.. I am in talks with a lady who does wonderful job with simple enhancing makeup for westerners… so not sure how good she will be for a desi wedding…

you should look up:
Ghazala is a freelance makeup artist, you can find her on facebook as 'Ghazala Mir', she used to work for Depilex, I think she charges above 3000dhs but you can confirm, her phone number is 055 9598049
Zodiac Salon: you show them up a picture and they'll do the makeup though they specialize in Arab makeup I've seen some desi brides look stunning from them, they charge 1500dhs+ I think, phone number is 04 3496605
MAC MakeUp Artists
They are usually quite good, just go to any MAC store and enquire, again you can show them a picture and they’ll do it for you, but they won’t do hair so you’ll need to do that separately…
Just joined the Forum, :) & wanted to say seen a couple of good make-up artists in Dubai my Cousins are based there... and we have had 2 weddings last year.
One is a lebanese girl who worked in Paris Gallery Festival City... but Both my Cousins used Zaynab from London she has done lots of Famous people and has her own Make-Up Range too. Been featured in load of mags aswell. My cousins said she does all the Sheikha's too so not sure what she charges.
I know she is based in Dubai most of the year. Although when we called her last month she was in London! zaynab dot com

whats better? going to a salon or the venue?
i personally find it better to go to the salon rather than the venue, reason being; when it comes to the salon, its just u and a few ppl uve asked to tag along with u whereas the venue wud lack the professional lighting and resources required for a good dress up that are available at the salon and u will get constant distractions from relatives and frends whod want to keep peeking in and give advise :P ur the bride, u need ur space and pampering which u can only get at the salon!
are u sure janie liang charges 1500 for one day? id been wanting to check her out too but been too lazy to call :$ so plz lemme know if thats confirmed info!
also, has anybody had personal experience from allure or zodiac? if anybody has pictures plz pm me!
i have been on a lookout for a good make up artist myself, many friends referred ghazala but she is too expensive, i called allenora and they said they charge 2500 and they only come to the venue since they have yet to open a salon, which im avoiding too!
this leaves me with very few options with top most being janie liang and allure but i reallyy need to consult and see pictures b4 i make any decisions. if anybody has experience with anyone else, preferrably a pakistani, who does not give the cakey, plastic doll effect, plz suggest

Yup, I emailed Jannie Ling and yes she does charge 1500 bucks... for the salon.. and 100% extra for the venue...
So, yeah i am also tied for options.. so wanting to have a nce flawless look.. and well gotta meet personally and let the instincts rule
