I have heard them say that as long as you are in west of I-35 in Dallas, you are fine. My problem is I am right on I-35, pretty close to it anyway.

Yes we r leaving around midnite and heading to Dallas…forecasters are saying this will be the 3rd worst hurricane ever recorded…mostly every1 we know is leaving…and CenterPoint Energy is saying that residents must be prepared for no power for up to 2 weeks!..

A lot of people seem to be leaving Houston. I got home from HEB about an hour ago and noticed quite a few cars in the parking lot of my apartment complex being loaded up by people who’re leaving town.

The grocery stores are going nuts…Wal-Mart and HEB is totally out of water and bread and has been since this morning…most canned items are also gone.

** My parents want me to come home but I told them I don’t think it’s a good idea for me to head towards Dallas now…I’m sure the traffic is horrible…it’s gonna be waaaay more than 4 hours for me to get there and if anything happens b/t here and there, with all the traffic, and considering cell phones don’t work in some little town in b/t, I’ll be screwed. Last time I was coming back from Dallas, in 2 hours out of Houston one of my tires blew out…and I had to call for AAA to come and help me.

Hopefully things won't be too bad....**I stocked up on food and Coke(went to 3 grocery stores today and all were out of water). Got several candles....will fill up buckets and tub with water tomorrow night....

**Lost **I think u shud leave…it’s going to be very dangerous, and the further u can get away from Houston, the better…I know the traffic is awful right now…at 7 p.m. some1 told me that the expected drive to Dallas is btwn 12-16 hrs…but we think it’s because every1 is panicking rite now and that it will be a lot better to drive overnight…please reconsider…cos traffic is bad, but not as bad as a threat to ur life…

It can change directions suddenly, and thats very possible, or it can reduce speed where it is and lose steam, but experts who have advanced knowledge and experience of hurricanes are pretty sure it will make landfall as a fairly powerful hurricane (Cat 3/4+) somewhere on Texas coastal line. As it happens, Houston is right there.

it isnt gonna die, thats the only thing that one can say with certainity. the waters of gulf are warm and only help intensify its ferrocity. the cone of unpredictability, is getting shorter and shotter with the passage of time and its going to make landfall on the texas coastline. what category it will be, is anyone’s guess maybe 4 or 5.

Houston is 60 miles inland so it will see high winds that will cause dangerous debris to fly around, lots of broken glass lots of flooding. Who wants to stay in an area when there is no power?
Gas prices, $5.00 a gallon due this storm?

khottay…what do you think? this is a mom and pop shop outfit…servers are located in a facility that is one of the best in the nation for colocation services…I am ofcourse not going to reveal their name and location but rest assured that servers will be fine and if Azkar is not here so what…mein mar gayyaan?
