i think you can. you have to call the pro store directly as far as i know and ask them. it's the one on fouberts place if you look up the store details.

You cannot buy it over the phone. You have to send in a lot of information and they have to verify it. You actually DO have to be a professional to get this card.
Here is all you need to know :
To enroll, simply fill out the M·A·C PRO Membership application, provide proper professional documentation and a copy of photo identification with your annual membership fee ($35US/$45CDN). You can drop everything off at any M·A·C store for forwarding or send it directly to the processing department at M·A·C PRO MEMBERSHIP, PO Box 435, 3219 Yonge Street, Toronto, Ontario M4N 3S1.

You have to qualify for this card as well. Make-up artists receive a 40% discount. Aestheticians, Cosmetologists, Hairstylists, Fashion Stylists, Nail Technicians, Costume Designers, Models, On-Air Talent/Performers, and Photographers receive a 30% discount.
You have to have at least one of these to qualify:
Examples of professional identification:
Composite Card, Business Card with name and specific profession, Editorial Page with name credit, Union Card, Head Shot & CV, Professional Licence,
Diploma/Certificate, Publication Masthead, Programme/Press Materials w/name, Contract on production company leterhead, Crew/Call list on prod. co. leterhead,
Professional leter of reference of employment.
It also costs 25 pounds to register, if they accept you.

I'm not aware that you can buy any pro supplies without the card. They're meant for professionals.

yeh but i dont know where their is a pro store as they dont say on the website.
i thought their was one in covent gardens, but now i heard its not a pro.

^ as i said, it's the one on fouberts place, just off carnaby street, near oxford circus.
the mac site is being really slow at the moment otherwise i would paste the whole address.
the others are just freestanding stores, this one actually stocks the pro items. i know because i go there quite often!

How is mac pro make up different from regular mac makeup? Is it heavier?

the pro line is just a wider range of products which i guess won't really appeal to the normal consumer, so they are marketed to professionals. from simple things like a slightly expanded range of eyeshadows, to mixing mediums, foundation in colours we wouldn't use etc etc.

Yeh some of the pro stuff is heavier, but sometimes when they have a new collection, they have some colours or products that are only for the pro stores,
and also you can buy palettes.

Mac is the best!! I have the pro card and love the discount!!! I know there is a Pro store in Liverpool .... so maybe you can call them and order from them. I know one thing that the pro make up is too heavy for your average person.....

I was just about to open a new thread but then saw this. I went to a mac pro store today in nyc. the last time i went was about 2 yrs ago. it was like mini heaven in there (the bigger one being sephora). i spent over an hour in there with a friend. almost all the shades i picked out were pro shades and was amazed that they dont offer the colors/products at their normal stores. well i understand some of the products, they look beautiful but i know i will never be using a blue paintstick. anyway, they’ve got amazing stuff there. They had huge jars against the wall lined with pigments. It was so pretty! I wanna go again.
also, you dont need a pro card to buy from there. it is open to the general public.
