hi, i was just interested to know if any girls here have tried any of macs foundations/concealers/powders and how have you found them. which foundations flatter asian skins best?

I had the try out make-up done by mac and I ended up buying the concealer and foundation (liquid one) I guess it looked alright when she put it on but when I tried it at home I didn’t like the colour at all! It was darker than my own skincolour. Now I don’t know if that’s the make-up’s fault or the lady that put it on me but I ended up never using it! (and it was sooo expensive 
) I actually went back to the shop but she said this really was the right colour for me and that the other ones wouldn’t suit me at all.
Now I have a concealer and foundation by Nubian Queen. That’s a make-up brand for the tinted skin :k:

Yeh Mac didnt work for me either..
they have pretty good eyeshades tho..
other then that ... thier fundation lacks the rigth tint or coverage and the lip glosses are too gloppy.. yuvk

my sis is beautician and make up thingy whatever expert. MAC and Bobby Brown very good. With MAC you use small amounts though to get the desired effect where foundation are concerned. You have to know how to apply I guess>> i dont use it myself, hate foundation. BUt thats what sis tells goes on about. Their eyeshadows are very good. They stay on once put on. You have to be careful though, cos MAC make up is also suited for photography make up or wedding etc so if you dont apply it correctly you look ghastly in pics.
with foundation, whichever suits u best depends on your skin type etc and how dare i use the word "fair" you are . ;)

I bought Mac's liquid foundation, but didn't like it at all. It was way too heavy on my skin and the color didn't match either. These days I am using Sheer light by Dior and I love it! It’s really nice you can’t even feel it on your skin :)
Try a few brands b4 you buy one :)

Just bought Lancome's PHOTÔGENIC Skin-Illuminating Concealer SPF 15... and absolutely love it !!! i think the shade i bought was bisque 4... cant remember. for foundation i really like clinique.

rimsh honey thats what I mean by coverage of mac foundation :) the colour didnt match, you must have been advised to get the wrong one .

I agree- I kept hearing that MAc was good so I went out and bought powder cover and concealer. When I came home it was obvious it was the wrong colour and went back. This time I was advised to buy another concealer! which I did
anway I recently bought a foundation from Lancome (called somehting like colour ID or som,ehitng, it apparently adapts to your own skin tone.
Its not great but if I dont use too much, it is the closest i have foudn to my skin tone

I also went to the MAC counter for foundation and concealer, but their foundation makes my skin look really oily. I have combination skin, and usually use powder foundation, but after hearing rave reviews about MAC, I decided to go to the MAC counter and check out what they offered.
After the MA finished putting on the liquid foundation and concealer, the makeup looked good for about 2 hrs, but then I started looking like I was sweating makeup! I thoped on some powder, but that seemed to make it worse. Anyways, IMO if you have combination or oily skin, you may want to skip MAC.

nuetrogena has a great foundation called 'visibly even'....MUCH better than any other expensive foundation....it practically disappears on the skin....i sometimes use it for covering up a spot ......

i bought mac foundation and the powder. i didn't realize it but the mac foundation made me look alot darker and my sister pointed it out to me. i've heard from other people that it did the same thing to them. i think mac foundation is good for "white" girls who want to get that tanned look. it doesn't look right on asian girls. their eyeshadows are wonderful though.

sowwy I disagree …are you sure it was the right colour ? When I have attended weddings my sister has used it on me. It was fine. didnt make me look dark. Their eyeshadows are gr8.

I use covergirl’s foundation, “Soft Honey” and it works fine on me… but i’m lookin to buy a nice one before i go off to pakistan… i can never find good makeup in pak, it’s all horribly ugly ghastly WHITE stuff 
I just got a free sample of Estee Lauder’s nw foundation and actually it’s pretty good.. only a small amt gives full coverage

omg same here, its pefectly fine when its kinda chilly outside, but past few days its been hot here and ive been sweating makeup..skin is all oily…what are you using now? we have the same skin issues !

has any1 tried the new Teint idole ultra foundation from lancome? its oil free and lasts for 14 hours. they dont do many shades for darker skins, but the 05 is perfect for my colouring, bit pricey though. its £27

also, if any1 has oily skin, try an oil free moisturizer first b4 applying make-up and after using MACS select spf15 foundation in NC43 i use MAC blot powder in medium-dark. this really helps control shine. i only apply to T zone area (forehead, nose and chin) as i dont like to look totally matt. Then i may re-touch with blot powder a few hours later.
