I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that most of us have a desire to learn languages and the best way to learn is by conversing…u cannot immediately converse in sentences so you start with words… and build on that..i really dont see the issue

You start conversing with the locals in say Spanish or French when you move there, not people back home.
