I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that most of us have a desire to learn languages and the best way to learn is by conversing...u cannot immediately converse in sentences so you start with words... and build on that..i really dont see the issue

I use both Mabrook and Mubarak and neither of those makes me REAL. You know why?

No issues because a lot of the people write 'congratulations' in Pakistan even before they move to an English-speaking country. They don't change as soon as they land in Canada.

You start conversing with the locals in say Spanish or French when you move there, not people back home.

Mubarak? Mubarak? Thats an arabic word isn't it? Why are you trying to be one of them for? Shouldn't you use the word موارکinstead? Oh wait that''s derived from persian! Sorry I don't speak urdu so i don't know if you have this word, i speak mirpuri we use the word moark instead but i guess that makes us persian wanabees instead of being an urdu speaking arab wanabee.
Note, i don't mean to offend my urdu speaking friends just trying to highlight how the OP failed in this thread
