maat by umera ahmed

Re: maat by umera ahmed

To make a young actress look aged, the indian movies always used ‘a Sari. Grey streak in hair, and Glasses Formula’! It was done to death in Bollywood!

And with all due respect, just because your nani wore it, doesn’t mean it is a common attire of all aged Pakistani women. In fact, it is probably only common amongst the really old ladies who migrated from India to Karachi in the 40’s and 50’s.

Re: maat by umera ahmed

Agreed. Also, M_was_here, the sari wearing doesn’t fit in this drama because we’ve seen what the older women of the family generally wore, i.e. shalwar qameez. So it looks silly for Aimen, Samman and even Aimen’s friend Naureen to suddenly be parading about in saris since it’s not something that they’ve been wearing around the house for years before… just my opinion.

Re: maat by umera ahmed

Last epi today. Lets see what they're upto :s

Re: maat by umera ahmed

So more than anyone else in this drama (read aiman) our misery finally ends today

Re: maat by umera ahmed

THANK GOD

Re: maat by umera ahmed

This drama made such a good impression from the very first episode that i hardly missed any of the episodes. Strong story line, powerful acting by all (specially saba qamar...she played the negative role perfectly). Each episode had its own flavour of enjoyment.
Though i'll say the last two episodes werenot upto the mark at all...they were rather boring....they should have showed how the mothers died, how the relationship of faisal and aimen became good and the relationship of azar and saman (when she gets to know that he didnot divorce sauliha)....yeh sab kuch include karna chahiye tha...seemed like that these two episodes were made in a hurry. (amina's acting was very good in that whole scene when faisal tells her that he wants to marry saman etc etc).

end bhi acha dikhaya ke dono faisal aur saman phir ek saath hain aur ek daffa phir khush nahi hain.

overall an excellent drama and surely worth a watch (minus the last two episodes)...and saba deserves an award for her performance.

Re: maat by umera ahmed

Okay I think the drama opened really well. The first couple of episodes were like WOW. Then after that for a while the drama began to drag and I started skipping episodes. The story started picking up again once Saman was going to marry Azar. Overall a pretty good drama I say.
Saba Qamar has been fantastic in this type of negative role. She played it so naturally. I think Amina Sheikh has also done well playing Aiman although I could not make myself like the character Aiman,

About today’s episode, honestly after reading on here about what will happen at the end I thought it’s going to be a win win situation for Saman who gets back Faisal and Aiman ki maat hogi. It is not often that I like the endings of dramas , most of the time endings are rushed but the ending of Maat in my opinion is spot on. It is actually Saman’s maat , despite her having Faisal she has nothing. us ke pas sakon nahi hai, aulad bhee chor gaye. Faisal ke sath bhe ab understang nahi rahi.. Ultimately it is a win for Aiman who is living happily with Hadeed and her grandson. :k: I think it is the perfect ending hmm but I wanted to see what happened to Azar aswell and something about the mothers and how they died

Re: maat by umera ahmed

finally it got finished yupy :is:

now mata e jan

Re: maat by umera ahmed

very nice last epi. amna n noor hassan both acted well. aiman's dailogues were superb.

Re: maat by umera ahmed

I remember a few weeks ago I said one of the underlying themes here was the story about sisters … and it came to light again in the conclusion. I thought it was very well done. Bravo! :k:

Re: maat by umera ahmed

although I never bothered to watch this drama as I hated the whole doormat approach, but watched the last 15 minutes and Umera Ahmed’s writing really shone in the phone call scene at the end between the sisters. Great job with that last scene :k: And yes this was def. Saba Qamar’s role to pick up and just run with it.

Overall very good episode and excellent acting by Amina Shaikh. Shows how strong she become. The ending was spot on and overall the drama proved that it was worthy of Umera Ahmed's name. Kudos. Definitely agree that the last episode could have been a little better but absolutely loved Saba Qamar and Amina Shaikh's acting. She was a powerhouse of emotion. Excellent actress and has so much versalitity!

Re: maat by umera ahmed

shukr hai …mujhe tu laga tha kahin end mein maaf hi na kar de :smack:

however, i must say overall im nt impressed with the drama…mujhe nahi khas laga.

Re: maat by umera ahmed

good ending.....

Re: maat by umera ahmed

I think the last episode was brilliant

and aiman saying that "this is checkmate" at the end of the phone conversation wrapped everything up brilliantly. I really appreciated the end at this point.

Re: maat by umera ahmed

I never watched the entire drama.Just the last couple of episodes and those too fast fowarded at most times.I am not sure how realistic Faisal's character & decision was,but I loved the phone call conversation between the two sisters, especially when Aiman tells Saman to live with Faisal now and realize how it is when everything good no longer exists.Loved it....!!

Re: maat by umera ahmed

For those of us that watched the entire drama faithfully this is definitely a worthwhile drama to watch! No it is not a romantic drama...it doesn't have the gorgeous male & female leads like Humsafar nor the mercedes, house with an indoor swimming pool.........but it has a message.....classic Umera Ahmed style. The scene with conversation between Aiman and Saman was a treat for those of us who watched all 25 episodes. They changed it from the short story. Saba Qamar definitely deserves an awards but I think Amina Shaikh was superb as a supporting actress. Of course both have become seasoned actresses even before this play. The supporting cast was superb as well.

Re: maat by umera ahmed

I thought in the end the person who never learnt a lesson was Faisal. He didn't listen to his mother initially and then broke his son's heart. He was a weak person and didn't know that he had it great with Aiman. Loser, him and saman were made for each other.

Re: maat by umera ahmed

Loved the last episode and the ending overall. This drama definitely made me quite mad, whenever I watched it, but I have to give props to Umera Ahmed for a very satisfying and brilliant ending.

Re: maat by umera ahmed

great watch.. loved it! too bad its over but great ending . :naak:
