maat by umera ahmed

Did anybody else notice Aiman's veins popping in the scene where Faisal gives her divorce papers ? It was some powerful acting from Amina Shaikh!

Also loved when Hadeed (the name does grow on you) says I can give you my shoe if you need that to beat me to Aiman.

Re: maat by umera ahmed

OMG. ^I could see my mom crying to that last scene, I cried too. OH GOD, amazing acting my Amina Sheikh and Noor Hassan. It's official, Amina Sheik is my favorite actress. THE END.

Re: maat by umera ahmed

I loved the ending!!! It feels so good when I see the evil characters suffer :biggthumb: Awesome acting by Amina Sheikh, mashallah she is very talented (I was convinced after DAAM). Everyone did great justice to their characters.

Re: maat by umera ahmed

oh boy, Khizer looks cute dashing in the white shalwar kameez.

i need to fan myself.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH.

Re: maat by umera ahmed

OKAY.

bottom line here: woman, waste away your life so that your children pull you outta your misery. the very mistake our women make

i dun even know where to start.

i has crush on khizer  (yes, he will always be khizer to me)

liked the last convo between Saman and Aimen. Still, Aimen is as passive as one can get. Accepts any situation and reacts accordingly. She took NO stand.

Faisal and Saman can never be happy in each other’s company, because they are both selfish, self-absorbed, materialistic and sorta dumb. bwahhahah such misery.

Re: maat by umera ahmed

but but but, yes i am "satisfied" with this story i guess. The efforts of the team show and Umera sorta tried something new.

I guess the idea is that everything sorta balances out in this world.

what happened in the actual short story?

Re: maat by umera ahmed

oh i loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee the ending....

Re: maat by umera ahmed

Was this exactly how the novel ends or were there little changes made to the story ?

Re: maat by umera ahmed

yes it also ends same in the noval hadeed was police inspector n 3 kids in noval

Re: maat by umera ahmed

But in the novel Aimen never really said anything to Samman the way she did in the phone conversation in the last episode. I'm really glad they added that in because it made a real difference...

Re: maat by umera ahmed

i think i am only person who thought this drama was boring

Re: maat by umera ahmed

Just as lame as I expected, so tired of watching these one dimensional weak male lead characters in these novel turned stories...these women writers seem to really have an axe to grind with men in general. There was no character development or explanation of Faisal's reasonings throughout, such a badly written character whose motives make absolutely no sense throughout!

Re: maat by umera ahmed

you're not alone :)

Re: maat by umera ahmed

Does anyone else think that Faisal’s character was the most ‘ghatiya’ man ever imagined by a writer ever?? :hehe:
I mean he just comes home, gives his extremely obedient wife of 25 years an envelope with divorce papers and a flat! The next day he moves in his nakhreeli first wife back into his house and just nods at her whims!!! How pathetic can you get?

Re: maat by umera ahmed

same here u can check the previous posts how happy i was when it finished

next is mata e jan  i m really hopeful

Re: maat by umera ahmed

oh it was boring.

Faisal was jsut so blah. i woulda hit him with a belan.

But, isn’t Aimen to be blamed for his actions and “ravaya” towards her.

Re: maat by umera ahmed

thank god for the last episode. finally some poetic justice!!!!

Re: maat by umera ahmed

I disagree. This is not the message I got from this drama. I’ve been saying this from the beginning when this drama started making people here upset, one of the messages the author was trying to drive home was for a woman to take control of herself and her life.

Aiman did neither and look what happened to her. Aiman lucked out with Khizer because he went and spoke to Asher’s family directly, otherwise there is no guarantee that he would have come and stood by Aiman’s side.

Aiman did stand up for herself the only way she could. Aiman was never an aggressive or even assertive character. She was never given any importance by her sister or husband. It was difficult for her to have an emotional breakdown and express her feelings when Saman and Faisal got married … so speaking up the way she finally did with Saman in the end, on the phone, was the only way she knew how to …

Face to face confrontations or confrontations of any type for a passive personality is incredibly hard. People like this run from confrontations … so how she reacted and behaved was in line with her character.

Re: maat by umera ahmed

The only saving grace of Maat was superb acting by everyone, especially Saba Qamar and Amna Sheikh. And the direction was very good too. The story was so lame. And I am sorry, but can someone please tell me what was the message in the story again? It was so lame. Live your life like a loser, so you can have a supposed 'check mate' in the end? How does that make up for living like a total loser all your life?

I am sorry to say, but I am sick of Umaira's in-your-face morality, and poetic justice. Even if I hadn't read the short story beforehand, I knew exactly how it was going to end...good characters have it all nice and cozy in the end...and the evil ones are unhappy and suffering. Sorry, that's not how it happens in real life. The story was so pathetic, and the only reason it seemed less lame was because of the superb direction and outstanding performance of the entire cast.

I totally disagree. There was a total transformation of Aiman's character. She finally does stand up for herself with Faisal. She throws the papers for the flat in Faisal's face. Her veins were popping. Extraordinary acting by The sets of sisters in the drama. Saman gets material things but is a total loser. Aiman teach her really good lesson. The conversation she has with saman is worth it's weight in gold.
