How do people so blatantly lie about their ages in rishtas?!
Most people here take it that if someone says the prospect is 27 he must be 29/30 and same for girls. However what i dont understand is that what happens when they get married and their real age is found out thru the passport, etc. It must be so embarassing and weird. How do they face it then?!.
Why do people lie so much in our society? it really is terrible. And 2-3 years is also wrong BUT imagine a 33/34 year old claiming to be 27. How pathetic some people can get. Argh.
even if it is possible i m sure its not something every tom, dick and harry can get done so in that case what the hell happens to the rest? since i can say for sure that 99.5% lie abt their ages in rishtas. Its seriously not funny! i know we know take it for granted that if someone says he's 27 he means he is 30. BUT gosh, 7 yrs difference is too hard to digest.
I know of girls who do it, and actually start to believe it. I have a cousin, who my mom told me herself is a year older than me, and obviously my mom would know, cause that cousin was born, and then a year later I was born. I went to Pakistan, and they were celebrating her birthday. At that time I had already turned 24 a few months before, and they were celebrating her "24th" birthday....I was like...ummm ok...I know you are lying!!!
and someone else I know, keeps telling people she was born in 1984....but her sibling let it slip to me that she was born in 1982!!! I was like, why do you lie? Im going to start telling everyone now that Im 24!!! Hi, my name is Saimab33 (33 is not my real age, its just my favourite number for some reason), and Im 24, nice to meet you all!
ok now that i’ve let it out.. I honestly don’t see the point in doing that. Why? I mean, why?? It’s beyond my understanding. And believe me, LOTS of people do it, especially females. My cousin’s sister has been 18 for the past 4 years.. LITERALLY! The other day, my sis had it and said to my cousin, " from what I remember, you claimed that she was 18 four years ago?" But that didn’t stop her from continuing with the lies and explanations and what not…
I tend to look older and act older than i really am… but I dont lie about the fact that I’m still a very young man, though I love correcting the elders… Just for the record I’m 26 not 76
I asked my cousin in Pakistan as to why that is...so here is the story, in Pakistan back in the old days maybe 60s or 70s, parents lied about their kids ages and got it changed on documents and passports, just so their kids could have more time to pass exams and get into the field of business or something, i forgot what field it was, but it was really big in those days and everyone was doing it, so they wanted their kids to have more chances to pass exams since their was some age limit on taking those exams and like after a certain age u couldn't take it again lol aisa kuch tah I can't quite recall it. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. lol

i know people porn in 40's and 50's always have their date of birth as 1st January..

But in Pak, I have heard of many cases where guys which do look mid 30s marry 20 year old girls, and are like passport par hum ni zyada umer liki hai, visa kiye liye, when its obvious they are really that old! And the parents just believe them if they are rich or what not.
Why wud they need that for visa?! hmmm. And yah its rite money makes everything ok for some people.
