Re: Low sperm count!!!
I went to a doc who went to all lengths to identify the WHY for each of his patients. That is of SUCH importance. He ran all the tests - on me AND (even tho I definitely was unable to conceive) he ran tests on hubby too, upfront and prior to any sort of treatment. Most of the infertility specialists that I came to know while working in this field worked in that fashion. The ones who tell you to go for IVF without telling you WHY...they havent done their job and are poor docs.
Once we knew EXACTLY what the problems were, we were able to make informed choices about what types of treatments to persue. If you dont know the exact cause(s) of your troubles, you're operating in the blind hope that something/anything will work.
I truly pray that SC will come back in 3 or 4 months with wonderful happy news. Yet...having seen so much, having been thru this, having met so many who place so much hope in untested, unproven and (in many cases) inappropriate treatment paths....I worry that they will face utter devastation over the time wasted and still having to face the harsh reality of infertility.
If any of you go to a specialist and they tell you that you will need this treatment or that drug if you want to conceive, ask them WHY. Then spend a good long week at least with your good friend GOOGLE. If you do not get a good answer as to WHY, then the doc has not done the job that a doc is supposed to do...so either get them to uncover the why or get a different doc. Find the WHY before you find the "cure"...thats the only way.
