Some of you may remember a few months ago I ordered some kurtis from Hajra Hayat. There were some stitching issues, which they did eventually repair to my satisfaction. The designs were converted from some of her suits to be worn at lunches and dinners with western or silk pants. They fit into both western and Pakistani events. I found her price point to be reasonable when comparing to shopping in higher end department stores in the US.
My main contact was with Rabeela, the Karachi branch manager. She was very helpful with design and color ideas.
The pictures do not do these kurtis justice.
Instead of white, we settled on a different combination of green, orange and pink.
The brown one has the most work and was more expensive. The rest were under $100 each. Some may think it's expensive but when you are comparing to Saks, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, etc., it is more reasonable to order these exactly to your size and specs.
Im glad you were satisfied with your order in the end. Personally I dont find they are worth $500, but as long as you are happy and they fulfilled your expectations, thats great
hey for 500$ did u just get the tops or are they 3 piece suits? the tops look kind of short for them to be 3 piece!! and for 500$ u couldve gotten 15 of them i guess she charged you for the fact that she's "brand name"
well as long as ure happy and got exactly wut u ordered!!
One of them came with pants, and the rest are just tops. If you look at her Facebook group, you can see prices of her full suits. What I paid for were her designs and convenience.
I am on this board to see if I can find more reasonably priced venues to purchase clothes. From my experience, if I try to buy something from a cheaper place, the suit comes out lacking quality that I want. Such as I purchased an outfit from Indusmart based on great reviews on this site. The outfit came with good fabric but I did not like the quality of kaam. Indusmart took the suit back right without any hesitation but has taken over a month to re-do it. I still don't know how it has turned out because it has not arrived yet. I will share my results with you all.
yes thats the fact that you didnt like the outfit embroidery and i respect that fact as everyone has their own preferences, your grievances were genuine(kamdani issue and colors not clear in image on site) and we had accepted the return and made the outfit based on your preferences i.e color kamdani etc.
as i had already clarified the issues with you and as it has been discussed here therefore need to clarify here as well.
to be very frank with you apart from above fact that you are comparing apple with oranges.
type of outfit you received and images you had posted above are totally different works.
firstly i must clarify here i am not saying hajra hayat work is cheap but just doing comparison with the one it was referred.
the ones you posted majority of them have straight work simple bail and simple work notice in blue one above it has simple silver dabka leafs bail and blue and silver flower with just thread edgeing and beads put into it this is not intricate nor heavy work but light work and both bail dont carry each other, this doesnt require too much of attention or work either.
the one you received are below , i cant post images you sent to me due to your privacy issues therefore adding a full and close shot.
reason i m posting this so that members here can get an idea what is being discussed here and surely they can comment on it aswell.
this is different type (cant be best as we do much better than this one and there are better works other do as well) it has atleast three kinds of bail and motifs all in one design and this takes time, needs too much of attention and i dont think its low quality work from any angle.
although there was an issue with the kamdani that you pointed out but that can happen sometimes as kamdanis are synthetic and are not stitched but fixed with threads or other materials and not every karigar can do that, probably was done by somebody who shouldhave done it but that was an error surely.

hehe, i m into this business also, trying to establish it. But i have seen so far tht those who have made their names in this field charge too much. The profit margin is way too high.
I think if she sells the same suits for 100$, everybody would have said tht she has sold the clothes of poor quality. We usually link quality with high prices. But Customer satisfaction is also an imp aspect. Thats wht happened in this case n its a success for the seller..
Junaid - I was not comparing your outfit to the Hajra Hayat kurtis. I know they are like comparing apples to oranges. I merely said that I ordered something from Indusmart and it arrived not as expected. If I had seen the close-up pictures like you posted here, but were not on your website, I would not have even ordered this suit. I am waiting with great anticipation of seeing your re-do.
