well i haven't even travelled PIA yet so i couldn't agree with TheRealDeal or LayDHoney but....i heard they've improved though. so i dono what was the last time u all travelled it but i will throw in my dime as soon as i'm back this december n let u all know how it really is.
^ take ma advice.. dont travel wid PIA.. u will get the worst time of ur life..the rudest people in the world.. PIA men dont have respect for the women n children..i call them Jaahil..:yukh: PIA..
Well i think they might be rude because they have to face RUDE people all the time?????
Persoanlly i had a very good experience when i travelled from Singapore to Lahore, had great food and comfortable seats, wasn't enough entertainment provided but doesn't matter a lot to me. They surely need few more hospitality lessons but it's incorrect to generalise them as RUDE people. Overall they are good and they will surely improve with the time.
***More than the airline or crew, we, the passenger make PIA look bad.***
Flew thrice to Karachi, Pakistan from New York on PIA.. Loved every minute of my journey. Never had any problems. I am being fair; I have always found the crew good and caring. I am not going to agree with anyone lamenting PIA until I see it myself... More than the airline, I think it is us, the passengers who just keep on fighting over the seat assignments or lavatory usage etc that has nothing to do with the airline or the crew. Just think or imagine the kind of people this airline has to fly! In addition think about the poor crew (which comprises a couple of ladies also) about what they have to accommodate. Believe me no matter how sane or even a saint you're, you will loose your mind if you were part of the flight team. Don't accept as true? Go endeavor yourself!
I have limited experience with PIA
Just one long haul flight and a couple of domestic KHI - ISB ones
My overall impression was really good - I found nothing to bitch about
Based on my experience I would surely recommend PIA :k:
Great people work in-flight. I have travelled via PIA. They had great patience with some people on board who were rude and making mess. I will travel with PIA again. Now administration may be another story.
PIA has its ups and downs. I lived in KSA in my childhood and my father flew nothing but PIA so you can say in 11 years I flied atleast 30 -40 times on PIA. It wnet from pretty good in the 70s to terrible in the 80's and early 90's. Then I moved to the US. I flew PIA 5 times since then on the Karachi - NY route. Experince was bitter sweet. Ground staff need a big "customer service" kick in the behind. They made me and my wife and 1 baby literally cry in NY in 2000. We were connecting from another city as I don't live in NY. Rest is a nightmare I don't want to relive here. But besides that on the same flight I saw flight staff taking care of a little child (under 5) travelling alone quite graciously. And another crew member went over leaps and bound to make get me a seat with my wife after the ground staff botched everything up at the NY counter.
So it has its ups and downs. in 2002 my wife and 2 children were travelling alone and I bought them SWISS AIR tickets. PIA was not an option in my mind. According to my wife SWISS AIR flight attendants (women) treated her like royalty (in coach class fare) and kept checking with her all the way to Karachi whether she needed any thing. They never made her stand in line even at ZURICh where the changeover was to the UAE.
So comparing one wolrd class airline to another PIA does not get the right grades it deserves.
Overall Pakistani's need a big "customer service" or Ikhlaqiat lesson. All of us Pakis are behind in this big time.
It is the badtameez and jahil people flying PIA, "angootha chaap" "paindoo production" of Pakistan who make PIA bad. I have seen myself and of course the observation of my relatives, especially my mother.
No discipline, "dhukkey" "foul language" "crying kids (that we don't see with any other nation" .........
Thats our mannerisms and we are to blame PIA .........
