re: Love or Patience [GS Debate Group - 1] - Won By “Innocent Soul”
everyone, so the topic i have chosen for debate is love or patience…which one required more for a peaceful life and i will argument in the favour of Patience.
According to oxford dictionary Patience means the capacity to accept or tolerate delay, problems, or suffering without becoming annoyed or anxious, the thing that i think is most needed in today’s world where jealousy, ego, conciet, matterialism, lust of power, voilence racisim and thus war has holded ground so deeply that everyone has became selfish and self-absorbed. no one is trying to understand other’s problems. Fanaticism is deepening its roots, no nation is ready to bear other. Nations/countries is a wider concept if we narrow it down to people
of one country they also are divided into so many political, geographical, religious (both inter and intra), social and other divisions, narrowing it further wown can tell that how people living in the same house are becoming prey to jealousy, furryness and cavalierness. Those cultures that were renowned for there botherhood and care for others are now totally on the other edge. Individualism has became a common thing.
This situation is causing, anxiety, disconcertment, violence, fury and the torment ,biggest of all,“war”. in my opinion the thing that we really need is to being able to learn to put up with others. because its the only thing that would make the earth a better place to live on.
Though patience/tolerance is a dull virtue and not so easy to adopt. But if we on individual basis try to learn the basics of patience and appy it on our own lives it will become easy for us to live and let others live happily. Being huffy, touchy, irritated, self-conciet, revengeful, and fanatic and racist will make the earth a hell and no-one will be able to live a peaceful and secure life.

Absolutely fabulous and the bit in red is spot on with what I have believed for some time now.
This is going to be a difficuilt one to answer but I look forward to hearing Southie’s answer and I am sure he is capable of putting forward some equally good points. Well done though Innocent Smile you have made a great start.
re: Love or Patience [GS Debate Group - 1] - Won By “Innocent Soul”
You dont vote, formally anyway.
What you have to do is like the post you feel is best argued and presented.
At the end we count the number of likes per poster and the most like point of view wins. If we have a tie then we call it a draw and it’s a very happy thing too.
Now I think thats the general idea anyway and i’m sure Lethal bhai would agree so simply liek the post you think is best.
re: Love or Patience [GS Debate Group - 1] - Won By “Innocent Soul”
Our friend Southie is a very busy fellow I am sure he will come by when he gets the time trust me he is not the sort to run away I think he has a alternating shift pattern or something… my guess is he is a technician of some sort either that or he is businessman. No doubt he will post when he can.
re: Love or Patience [GS Debate Group - 1] - Won By “Innocent Soul”
As LKK has already mentioned that 1 contestant can post twice consecutively…so here is my 2nd post on the topic…
As i earlier said patience is a dull virtue and difficult to take up and love, on the other side, is very dramatic, emotional and a great force. Sometimes we love the people around us but are not tolerating there acts or sayings and in this way we spoil the whole set up. For examples i have seen sometimes that during wedding ceremonies, relatives start arguing on meagre things and the whole event is spoiled, and this negativity/ bitterness sometime doesn’t end easily and leaves its traces on the relationships. Its not that they don’t love each other but the thing is that they are not ready to tolerate other’s point of view.
The other thing is that love no doubt is a great force but in my opinion its only applicable in our personal/family lives. We love our parents, siblings, spouse, friends and other dear ones but how can we love someone whom we don’t even know. Love is the feeling of great affection, how can one feel such strong affection for someone whom he/she doesn’t even know. For example if an elderly women who is also allergic to smoke is standing at some public place and a person standing after her is smoking, she would never be able to feel any affection for him, but the only thing she can do
is to ask him politely to stop smoking or move a bit far from her.
The other example that comes to my mind is that if the patience is taken up as a habit by whole society, our personal/family life will also become much better. For example if a businessman\Officer has a meeting with some party and they have a vehement meeting and Mr.A vents his anger on his subordinate, the subordinate will do the same and scolds his peon then obviously the peon will air it out on his wife or kids and the atmosphere will became unpleasant.
Anger and hastiness cause so many problems for us…in my opinion they are the worst enemies of human being. They only cause anger, frustration, anxiety and fear. Mostly when we do something hurriedly or response someone angrily, later on we repent on it. So being patient is the solution to all problems.
re: Love or Patience [GS Debate Group - 1] - Won By "Innocent Soul"
Innocent, a wonderful start. Here is my response.
Patience is definitely a key for a peaceful life. And so is love. Which is more important is the question. Granted, when 2 people love each other, there can still be petty squabbles such as family infighting. On the surface, this may seem the opposite of peaceful. However, true love is when one does something for the other without expectation for anything in return. Best example of true love is a mother's love for her child. While achieving that ideal is difficult, striving for it is certainly a noble goal that each of us can have. You are the best example I can provide for love winning over people. Innocent smile - it conjures up images of a sweet person who is devoid of hate (innocent) and spreads love and cheer (smile) - a chochi chi bachi (credit for this goes to a poster by this name in KK).
Imagine if the world was filled with people with innocent smiles. No war, only love.
Loving also means to let go. Letting go of the other person's rudeness, bad behavior.
On the other hand, patience can be a double edged sword. Per your posts, it serves us all to be patient and calm. However, the bad guys can also possess this quality - they can be patient and bide their time to do harm. Hence patience without love can lead to disaster. But love without patience - maybe it leads to some petty squabbles - minor irritants. But nothing more.
