I used to think in my younger years that arranged marriage was out of the question....
When parents started looking for rishtas it seemed ok although i was apprehensive...
Then i met him through an arranged proposal and it was love at first sight, MaashaAllah...
And no i dont go around sporting a huge rock on my finger, although he says he owes me one. but commitements arnt made by how exp your ring was. In my case it was made, because we were simply the "one" for each other, and i say Alhamdulillah several times a day that i have him in my life.

Not every girl is materialistic. My engagement ring was 5.99, we bought it together. It was my choice.
My wedding dress was around 1000 rupees, isn't that 20-30 bucks? My choice.
And love marriages rock.
