Basically the current theory circulating is that...
The Others are infected with a disease and so they cant leave the Island
They inject sterroids in their bodies to contain the spread of disease but which has had a side effect in making them very strong
Thats the reason that Claire was kidnapped because they wanted to extract baby fluid from Claire's womb to experiment in finding a cure
Thats why Jack is now kept in a seperate cell than Kate and Sawyer
They need Jack to help them find a cure
Thats my theory anyways.....
