Looking Sexy in Hijab

this is getting interesting..

MM when u do it for urself, shouldnt u just do it when ur inside? why wear make up when ur goign out?

wasalam SM just because u dont wear it with intentions of attracting guys doesnt mean u dont...u DO attract guys..

but i guess its a personal thing..I knew this girl who would wear that lil scarf around her neck with EVERYTHING! like tank tops too...made her feel more modest according to her :-s (that was when she came from pakistan so i guess she thought of that as a dupatta)

Well the purpose of me wearing it is NOT to attract guys. The whole point of me wearing it is 'TO COVER MY AWRAH'. I cannot control what goes on in men's heads. If I wanted to attract guys I wouldn't need to cover my awrah.

I don't have to don the hijaab. Nobody forced me to wear it. My sisters don't even wear it. I come from a pretty liberal family and I was born and brought up in the west but I have learnt the importance of hijaab and the consequences of not wearing it. It protects me, it covers me, it liberates me to walk down the street and not be seen as a piece of meat. Just because I wear make up and look smart with my hijaab it doesn't mean i'm trying to attract men.

We need to stop being so judgemental about our own deen. So it's ok for a girl who isn't covered to wear make up then?

neither can we change it to fit our lifestyles n our taste

gawd how boring can it get.

I think you know in your heart who you are doing the singhar for. Isnt that what really matters ?

I think we need to define "sexy". As I see some people around here take it in the same context as looking "good", "reasonable" and "clean"...... if this is how you define then actually there is nothing wrong either with the thread's title or really "looking sexy in hijab". But if there is any expilicit defination of the term then I stand by my earlier comments.

Unfortunately for some ,people cant have Islam in just their hearts.Islam has guide lines for the rest of life too- aside from what we actually feel inside.

nor can muslimahs without hijabs.. i believe there are other ways to cover ones awrah and to protect it

question, why are only muslimahs with hijabs liberated? why arent muslimahs without hijabs ever thought of being modest as well?? we are just as much protected and covered up… in my opinion, a scarf on my head wont do anything more to protect me… (but this all depends on where u r living.. ofcourse if im living in a society where its asked for a female to cover her head.. not necessarily a hijab, then i will do so)

i think people here also need to stop being so judgemental about those girls who dont wear a hijab.. we’re not parading around in the meat market either… if people could just start being a lil less judgemental about others niyat… it’d be awesome

we’re talking about girls in hijabs wearing makeup.. whether it defeats the purpose or not… it’d be different if we were discussing females with or without the hijab

Mystical_Miss ur absoluetly stunning with or without make up :flower2: im ur fan hehe

sadz, aww :flower1: n im ur fan

Tikhi Jalebi, i dono im used to it… i do wear it when i have to at home, and dress differently too.. but thats my ‘inside’ side, dont wana say too much here…
honestly.. i think, makeup is a big issue for desis, yea i sound like a racist..

Looking “sexy” does defeat the purpose of Hijaab, it has to be accompanied by Haya and caking yourself up like a tart is not Haya.

Most respected scholars say a woman should also cover her face which would mean she could use makeup coz no unrelated man will be seeing her but people who believe it’s allowed to show the face and hands should abstain from makeup or trying to attract men, or look good for them. Islam forbids women to wear even perfume in public coz it excites us, lolz.

By all means groom yourselves (if you have facial hair remove it except the eyebrows. cleanse, exfoliate and moisturise face), practice good personal hygiene (shower/wash regularly and wear a fragrant-free deodorant/anti-perspirent) and you don’t have to wear rags, wear nice and tidy outer clothing which meets the standards set by Islam i.e. loosely covers what needs covering, doesn't resemble a religious costume of disbelievers and isn't unnecesarily decorated and adorned, women are required to wear something over their everyday clothes when they go out, only old ladies are exempt.

Thats where ppl go wrong and all the bull starts

Tell me on the day of judgment will the Good Lord be judging your end by what others think and do?

As for feeling inside, if you dont feel it alrite from within then actually doing it is not worth it cause you'd be faking it. Regardless of how those around you get impressed by the fake-ism, Allah knows its fake.
