I know this topic must come up a lot but I wonder if anyone knows where the cheapest place is to buy tickets to islamabad (or peshawar) flying direct from london is?
I need to go for a period of around three weeks around march/april time but dates are flexible at the moment and I’d like to take advanatage of the flexibility and get some good deals on flights.
Well the quotes that I have been getting for Emirates and Etihad and even Gulf Air who all fly via the middle east seem to show that there's not much, if any difference between flying direct with PIA (who also give you more luggage allowance - typical desi :p)
Prices seem to be around £500-£600 per person. What a rip off.
for good fares you have to call couple of agents, online fares not always good, expedia and emirates are good online fares too.
for 430 flights, if you book early, with airlines like Saudia, Qatar, Gulf air etc. that may be the secret.
also if you live in south, I guess GAtwick will be good for you too, slightly cheaper airport than heathrow. more flights from emirates and itihad airways from there.
good asian travel agents are, Skylord, carlton, southall, hoodaki etc
you need to call them though to get a good deal or do online chat from their site.
i am also looking for good deal as going for about 6 weeks from feb 1st week to lahore.
I have just booked with southall travels £410 return with Emirates from Birmingham to Islamabad with a 2 hr stopover in Dubai.
(excellent airline). I am travelling Mid March and returning 2 weeks later
Southall travels : 0208 574 8410 Call them for a quote
PIA is more expensive and you also get a lower level of service
AirBlue tickets were going for £360 for the dates that I required. Ring them up if you want, I don't know about the service but there might be a reason why they are so cheap.
You can call them on : 0161 225 3040 ( their customer service is really crap btw)
I might also be going to pakistan during late march/start april. i checked emirates and their prices for London-peshawar, Manchester-peshawar roundtrip were 470GBP.
Thanks guys. This whole ticket booking has been a real hassle
Airblue were the cheapest, but when I factored in the cost and hassle of travelling 5 hours either side to Manchester then it wasn’t worth it. PIA , which was my main preference since they fly direct, wanted nearly £1300 for just two people
Long story short, booked ticket with emirates via their website over the weekend for £450ish each which seemed to be the best I was going to get. Got to work on monday only to find that I have work commitments that meant I had to change my departure date back by a few days. Called the call centre and got them changed at the cost of £75 per person, grrr. Then later on that evening had to call back to change the return dates since otherwise we’d only be in pak for two weeks. Call centre want ANOTHER £75 per person to change return dates which means in just two days I have paid an extra £300 to change flights which - when added to the original ticket price - means I might as well have just bought the tickets with PIA anyway
You guys are quoting brilliant prices for peak dates from the UK, unfortunately those who live near regional airports (which have just been granted International status) can't benefit from such great deals. I've been ringing travel agents left, right, centre for the past month and am getting ridiculous quotes for departure from Newcastle International.
try PIA online web booking, you can choose for good fare, Pakistan International Airlines - Home, some agents will charge more than PIA website and give you 20 pound discount on that price.
