Re: looking after hubby
mr Pinny Im afraid i will have to disagree ............my Mother , bless her made me sit with her and watch practically all the 2/300 episodes of the Mahabharat and on top of that my dads friend used to discuss it with me each week.
what you say isnt really backed up by Hindu Scripture
But dont worry pinny, i will get my mother back...you see im gonna be the one to to choose the old peoples home she's going to go to!
Re: looking after hubby
And a fondness for generalizations I notice. ![]()
Anyway the examples you listed are ridiculous of course as most people have already pointed out. However lets not grab whatever is in reach and run after the tablighi jamaat or its people. There are a lot of people in jamaats who educate the rest of us. It would frankly be silly to throw them into one grouping. On the same note, loving and taking care of the significant other - lets just say that common sense should be enough for that issue.
Re: looking after hubby
Oops, I misread. I thought you meant “if I wanted a mate, I would want someone…”

Hindus talking about a patriarchal society ![]()
Re: looking after hubby
Muslim Queen, I have put in a few lines to try to counter balance the argument...so please be reasonable!
secondly yes i do generalise but im a victim of my education =...perhaps a victim of my lack of education....thats why i like to occasionally pop into the relion section to educate myself.
Islam to me has always been one of those subject that I have been taught "to hear and to obey" there has never been allowance for discussion or explanation or for application of theory...
and that why I feel this forum is refreshing
people can say things and read things without feeling that they will be shot by someone in a beard and short trousers.
Re: looking after hubby
Tableeghi Jamaat ppl should be shot en-masse.

He is not talking about shadi. He is talking about a ‘mate’ ![]()
If Pristine wants a modern daughter, make sure she comes out of wedlock. You can marry afterwards. But this is the current trend going on ![]()
Re: looking after hubby
Children, Pinstripe was talking about his ideal life partner its the kind of ideal partner that a great deal of people(men and women) would like.
Its not something that warrants ridicule.
I would like to add however, that independence in a man should be curtailed as soon as poss.
Lost Soul, the Tabhlighi Jamaat DO have a few members /leaders that are a bit peculiar to say the least.... but it has to be said that they have done quite a bit of good in Paks too.

Daisy, double standards? ![]()
Re: looking after hubby
No.... I have have acquired a libran tendancy to see both sides of the story.... I do apologise.... Its quite awkward you see, it does get in the way of my genetic heritage of being bloody minded.... Im thinking of seeing a therapist.
Ive realised that kiddies here and older people too take things far too literally, it can be dangerous to instill any ideas in their minds that they do not understand.... so it is better to give a balanced argument rather than provoke civil unrest and possibly stone throwing and babyish name calling incidents.
Re: looking after hubby
Sorry, should have been clearer ---> I would like to add however, that independence in a man should be curtailed as soon as poss.
Not anything else.
Re: looking after hubby
Minah, I stand by that statement.......... Dont you?
Re: looking after hubby
