The current bridal trend seems to be a longer kameez to go with the lengha. I have some some gorgeous lenghas with this style, but I dont know if it would suit me I am very short. 5ft 0in and extremly cruvy/chubby
What is your HONEST opinion on short curvy girls wearing long kameezs?
What would be the best lengha style for our body type?
Of course the structure of the body (height, proportions, skin tone) have to be considered when making/buying a bridal dress. But I think that one should ALSO consider practicality along with fashion.
Fore example, a short blouse may not be of much use in the future (weight gain, maybe it won't look as flattering a few years latter, etc). A longer bridal blouse can also be used after the wedding. Sure, it can still be fitted. But the longer length allows you play around with it after the wedding (I think), so it doesn't go to to waste.
I'm petite as well (5ft 2 inches)....and i know sometimes longer can make you look shorter. I wouldn't want a kurta that's tooo long....but longer than my waist....or at least reach the top of my thighs (not even midway of thigh...just the top).
One of my cousins looked GORGEOUS on her wedding day...her bridal dress was beautiful....but the blouse was short. It DIDN'T reveal her stomach. But it was probably just a bit longer than her belly button....and I think if she were to lift her arms up a bit.......the blouse would travel up. After having 2 kids (and a third one on the way) she still looks great (like a supermodel)......but in order to wear such a short blouse again in the future......and pull it off.....she'd have to really stay in shape. That's why I think longer is maybe more practical. Just don't make it too long or it makes short people look even shorter. (Factor heels into this as well).
I see what your saying. I dont necessarily want a short shirt... i want a long shirt a little past my waist, and i want it to be fitted. I am not to keen on the really long shirt idea, though it is in fashion now, it may not be 20 years down the road, I want to stick to timeless pieces...
I like this discussion too. I am reallyyyyyyyyyy short like not even 5 Ft. I have been thinking about making my Gharara with long shirt. After this discussions I am getting wibes wether I should or not.

Most shirts can be altered to shorten the length... also you can wear big heels.
My fiance is really tall about 5ft 11in... so I will definitely have to at least wear 4 inch heels to be closer to him in height lol.
So keep that in mind shirts can be altered, heels can be added.
it depends on how long is long and how short is short..... upto knees? just above knees... below knees ... upto hips ..or whatever...it also depends on what kind of material u r using for your lehanga...there are so many different types of materials out there .. i dont even know the names....u tend look heavy in some materials.... .it also depends on type of the kaam u r going to have on your lehanga kameez and the style of your neck....u just cant really say something will (or wont) look good on me before trying it..... i personally think everyone needs to keep in mind to wear what looks good on them,Not whats in fashion..... so try first......
p.s. good bra counts too... u dont really wanna look "phaansiii hoii" in your shirt :D

Most girls that get married in the US get their lenghas made back home and shipped here... they usually dont get to try it on untill after its sent and for the most part at that time its too late to return it lol.
