Long Phone Calls with parents....

Re: Long Phone Calls with parents....

My parents live in the same city, me and my hubby visit them almost every week so eventhough I talk to them every other day if not everyday it is for 10-15 mins max. On the other hand, my husband's parents are back in Pakistan, my hubby only has 1 bro who is also studying in another country so both parents in laws are by themselves for now. We talk to them every other day for over an hour. My hubby doesnt talk so much but I always have a long coversation especially with MIL. :) I think parents look forward to talking to their children more than with anyone else in old age...I like the fact your wife takes time out from her routine to talk well with her mom but I think what is bothering you is that she talks late at night, she should try to talk to them early.

Re: Long Phone Calls with parents....

Ive seen a couple like this but in their case it was the guy. The guy was talking to his parents in Pak and his sister in Texas ALL THE TIME! And I mean when he gets home, when he is on lunch, etc. The girl got tired of it after a while because the evenings belong to the family. And like clockwork, her sister in law would call everyday and keep her brother on the phone for 2 or 3.

I dont think its that extreme in your case but if you feel like its a bit much then either change your calling plan or get her a bit busy in the house.

OR instead of spending 5 hours on the phone one day a week...cant she just spend maybe 30 minutes everyday? That is a bit more manageable...
