I’ve seen pictures of my old school friends in pakistan, and oh my goodness.
The same fashion was being applied there: The usual capris and long kurta style. But I’ve also seen girls wearing long kurtas (sometimes embroidered with kaam on them) with JEANS under them.
I thought it looked horrible. A simple, bright or dark short kurta with very, very light embroidery and jeans (bootleg, skinny, or even straight edge) looks fine to me, but what these girls were wearing made me puke.
Shalwars above the ankle look stupid in my opinion too.
What is your opinion on this? My opinion is in the negative. It doesn’t make you look so pretty. its so hippy-ish and i wouldn’t be caught dead wearing them. I would rather wear western long, pretty and cheap (lol) shirts instead. Wearing a long kameez with jeans looks terrible.
my mom says (in a fobby accent) "no, pyaari lagti hai larkian.’ and im like, NOOO LOL. they look so dumb, it makes them look like wannabe americans or something
But why? I’m so sick of wearing Camis under my shirts in summer (cuz of the plunging necklines)… layering makes me feel hot… aren’t short kurtas/kurtis a good option for summer?
My sis gets them made as short as a blouse (thigh length) and they look pretty cool on her since she’s skinny. You girls don’t like that too?
I never said short kurtas are bad. Just those long ones that are usually heavily decorated and are better suited for plain shalwars. D: -points to first post-
Some of us dont like to wear short shirts and would rather cover our butts. So we wear longer kurtas with jeans. I even wear dresses with pants and jeans. Its a personal preference and i certainly dont make fun of others who wear short shirts or kurtas.
i like dresses with trousers... its a very hip and trendy fashion here in europe (one i hope doenst die anytime soon even though its been goin for ages cuz it suits my ass covering needs) :D
but long kurtas that come to the knee coupled with jeans is a fashion no no.
i wear the shorter kurtas... cover my ass but dont come down to the knees.
i wear them all the time. my kurtas rn't too long not too short, just 2" below the hips n abov the knees.n i don't see myself looking stupid in pix. this yr i'm wearing them more with skinny jeans rather than regular jeans.but may b that's me. for me its the best option when u want full coverage. western long shirts all look same in style with a belt at waste. if u don't use belt u look bad.
i instead don't like girls wearing short tops wth pants.
