Obviously there is nothing wrong with giving a watch, flower, gifts, roses etc..to your husband/spouse, Islam encourages this. By all means purchase lots of chocolates and gold for your wife.

However, what we must be careful about is following kuffar symbols and religious practices. Symbols can be significant.

None of you would walk down the street in a Western city with a Swastika on your shirt, even though its just lines, it has a powerful meaning behind it. If a person didn’t know what that meant, you still wouldn’t excuse them and would tell them to remove that shirt.

Also if you are a practicing Muslim you will not wear a T shirt which honors a Hindu deity, you just wouldn’t do that, however that doesn’t mean there is anything wrong with wearing a T shirt.

Same goes for Valentines day, its a day based on a catholic saint who was killed. Later this person was honored by the pope. These are all powerful religious symbols, and Muslims should not participate in such an activity.

By celebrating Valentines, you are indirectly honoring that particular saint and their memory. Why even risk such shirk? You are basically paying homage to St. Valentine.

As Muslims we don’t believe in Catholic saints or the pope. Further as this holiday is celebrated in the West, it honors promiscuity and haram relationships.

So I’d advise any Muslim reading this to boycott this silly holiday. Pick another random day and do something special for your wife/husband.

Stop wearing western clothes. Its a symbol and unIslamic clothing. Stop eating with knives and forks.

Better yet -

Stop living in the Kuffar’s country.
