Help, please can anyone give me some tried and tested caterers in the London / South-East area, plus a figure to budget with for min 350 people? (starter / main / dessert).
I am helping someone out and we are novices at wedding planning and at a loss as to how to budget for this thing.
Also, how much would a venue for this amount of people cost, roughly, seated?
I estimate at least £3000 for venue only, minimum, is this correct?
i can’t give a prices as i haven’t had a need to ask people this yet. but Sapna Caterers are very nice for the 3 course menus - been to a few weddings where people used them. at one event there were like 5 main dishes to chose from; all very nice.
my cousin got married in Feb and his dad used http://www.impressionsweddingservices.co.uk/ and it was also very nice with nibbles and then a 3 course meal and then tea served at the end. also a waited chocolate fountain, juice fountains etc etc.
^ No, I don't have the patience for that and I wouldn't know if they are tried and tested. This site usually has people who know their stuff so I thought I would ask.
Sapna are definately the best. I've been to weddings up North and down south who use Sapna and they are really good. Theres a really good catering company from Glasgow too, name escapes me though.
In london, Greenleaf Catering are said to be quite good as are Madhus but i think both of these might be a bit expensive.
I recently got married and used MKB Caterers but they are based in Birmingham and im not sure if they cater events outside the Midlands.
Hope this helps anyway
Hey greenleaf aren't that expensive. I got a quote the other day for my wedding reception and they charge £23/head for 3 courses including unlimited soft drinks, waiting staff, event managers etc. And their food is very good, plus they can help find a venue if required although their website has loads of great venue ideas!
Oh and Madhu's suck! They did my sister in law's wedding and did a terrible job, they use shaziana for their halal catering though and they're very good and professional with great tasting food. Hope this helps!
Yes RC, that is the greenleaf website, my cousin had them at hos wedding and the food was good. He did not have too many dishes as starters or main which I prefer as sometimes when you have too many dishes the service is not that good.
Thank you everyone, I have passed the info on to girls brother, who has taken responsibility for the food side, BUT PLEASE CONTINUE TO POST SUGGESTIONS for RealityCheck and others bcos its rather good to know these things.
