Re: London - riots
I dont think It has ALL to do with Mark Duggan dude only. Unrest has been brewing since so many years. Its just that it boiled over and this troubled youth got the chance to let it all out.
The fact is police have no powers. The youths know this. 10 years ago it happeend in the North of England ie Oldham, Bradford, Burnley.
Is it mainly ethnic people who riot and cause this amount of destruction in the UK? May Day rioters and the student protests from 2010 at least went to Central London.
These thick people will be destroying what little their communities have.
Re: London - riots

Re: London - riots
Will people stop blaming poverty and lack of opportunities for rioting. There is this mentality of causing trouble amongst significant numbers of people here. Sadly most of them see to be Black origin. The Blacks for many reasons have a higher than average rime rate and the Pakistanis are probably likely to catch up.
The riots started off in predominantly black areas but spread - some of the areas like Ilfrod are mainly Pakistani and is nt Enfield more white?
Poverty does not cause such rioting. If they were poor they would have raided Asda or other food stores to stock upon basic necessities but no they wanted technology as if they could wear or eat it.
Re: London - riots
The amount of racial discrimination in this place never ceases to amaze me. Well done folks, well done. :)
Re: London - riots
Interesting comment about the London riots: " at times like this one is even more proud of the youth of syria, libya, yemen and egypt (amonst others) who stood and continue to stand up to truly corrupt regimes, and protect, rather than loot or terrorise their own city/country."
Nice comment. But at the risk of derailing this thread, Ill just say this that the involved youth cannot really relate to London as their city and Britain as their country in the true sense that the youth of egypt, tunisia could.

Youth is out to get whatever they can get. Arent you following events? Its not mere 'poverty'. Its the opportunity they are getting with the whole mob around them!
Re: London - riots
Can't believe the riots have spread to Birmingham.. waiting for my dad to get home from work safely i'A.
Re: London - riots
nobody is justifying why this happened or that it was done because they are using it as a platform to voice their concerns against poverty. they are looting because they can, because they aren't being contained properly by police and because who wouldn't want a nice pair of nikes from JD Sports for free?!
Re: London - riots
where there is injustice people look for ALL sorts of means to pay back those at fault ! and mostly the wrong means..
nothing to do with a particular race , creed or religion

Re: London - riots
^ wonder if those looters were even listening to her.
I expect British Media raising concerns about London Olympics itself in coming days.

I agree with the bit in bold, these yobby youths are mainly doing it for the fun of it i feel, these are the types of kids who had the opportunity to go to shool and study and try and make something of themselves, but instead spent most of their time bunking off or disrupting class when actually at school. There's lots of these types of youths in the UK, more commonly known as chavs i guess. ASBOs didnt work on them, time for the government to try something new.
