London / UK Riots

Re: London - riots

Yes and my sister is flying to London tonight.

The way I see it, these youths are bored, have no structure or social activities/services available to them. They are "teaching the rich a lesson" ... the rich being business owners. If you go onto the BBC website, you can see videos of these kids boasting about what they are doing and plan on continuing tonight.

Re: London - riots

The PM is flying back.. Wonder if Boris Johnson will come back from his holiday as well, remember on the local London news he was saying by phone that he had complete confidence in the police and didn’t feel he needed to :smack:

Re: London - riots

I think they saw all that expensive stuff being looted at the w/end with little/no any resistance from the police and just thought they could 'treat themselves' and also get away with it..

Re: London - riots

Reason behind these riots how they started ?

I heard this story is it true ?

[QUOTE]
cop murdered a blk guy sayin he shot him first, which hit his name tag n he survived. As a result he shot black guy. Later they reviled that bullet hit on cops name tag is a cop's bullet so blk guy was naive. Then all blk guys came out burnign stores and streets in london and follwing that white n e.one joined party

Re: London - riots

that case has been adjourned to dec 12. looks like there was a single bullet. Guardian revealed it wasn't an exchange of gunfires. i think they're still waiting for a response from IPCC.

Re: London - riots

it really is sad to see.....hubby and I have been following the news and he was reduced to tears to see several of the areas that have been affected.

the disturbing part is that the youth do not appear to have any political agenda or stance.....they are just out there for the fun of it.

there was a woman who barely escaped a fire that brought down an entire block......she was sobbing saying she has nothing but the clothes she is wearing.......and for what? bechari.

Re: London - riots

Europe is pretty much screwed. Paris witnessed these riots few year ago. Greece, Spain and Italy are all financially screwed. Few weeks ago Oslo was hit by a terrorist attack and now London.

Re: London - riots

Did anyone see Dr. Gus John on the BBC News? He made some really good points. Can't find a video.

A town not so far from where I am has already closed their shops early and are boarding them up due to tip off of rioting.

Re: London - riots

did you see mark stone from sky? he goes to some girls 'what are you guys up to? is this fun?'

Re: London - riots

No luv, I am Geordie, born and bred but I live down south cos it's 'safer' hehe

You know looking at the state of some areas does remind me of Byker though.

Re: London - riots

this says it all: LENIN'S TOMB: A crisis of ideology and political leadership.

Re: London - riots
