LOL I got one for you

Re: LOL I got one for you

open minded = open clothe

burqa =/= open clothe

Hence burqa =/= open minded

Re: LOL I got one for you

So those girls who wear half-burqa or half-hijab, what are they?

Re: LOL I got one for you

half minded :rotfl:

Re: LOL I got one for you

Not everyone is at the same level of taqwa as a Muslim. Someone wears hijab, the other wears a niqab. Practical thinking mandates that you share the same moral values. I can give my example. My husband is not religious at all and I am a moderate Muslim. This leads to clashes of views sometimes.

Re: LOL I got one for you

This.

If things end up progressing with you and this guy, the other thing I'd be worried about is if you can keep yourself from judging his family.

Re: LOL I got one for you

How much socialization does one do with a spouse's whole set of cousins anyway?

I barely talk to my cousin's spouses. Especially if you're living in another country, contact is so minimal.

Re: LOL I got one for you

PCG, I got this mole growing on my thigh, so since you're a doc can you take a look at it?

Re: LOL I got one for you

No, I do not think i would marry. You need to share the same values with his family, unless they are not a big part of his life. But if they are, these people are people who need to like you and you need to like them.

Re: LOL I got one for you

Then go ahead, marry him, I'll just sit here and wait for the after marriage threads u post :)

Re: LOL I got one for you

If the guy doesn't mind me being liberal [like I wear revealing clothes like capri's, dresses, and tank tops], why not? I really don't give 2 cents about what his family thinks of me.

If however he let's that get in b/w us, or his family is really troublesome about it then no.

Well at end of the you want to be able to find someone who matches with your own personal values. Some people do look for those qualities as you mentioned pcg. But underline principle is not to mock at someone who chooses to be conservative and if they are following correct sunnah and aqeedah.

Re: LOL I got one for you

It becomes an important question when you are with your husband visiting these relatives and your mil hands you a burqa and says you have to wear this since we are going to so and so's home and then on top of that I have to sit in a secluded room only with women in that burqa. I think that's completely ott. I'm a practicing muslim so actually I take offense if my religious quality is taken to be lower because I refuse to wear a certain dress code.
In such a situation id tell my husband's family I am wearing these regular clothes and I'm not gonna put burqas on just to satisfy my husband's extended family or immediate family for that matter

I actually kind of agree with your points..i didnt want anybody niqabi and preference was non hijabi. However...dont marry someone whose values and preferences match with yours.

Re: LOL I got one for you

How do you know this PCG is hot? Because she is doing reverse psychology with his / her avatar?

In fact, with the amount of rejection he / she faces, hotness would be the furthest away from them unless it is 45 C outside. Go figure.

Re: LOL I got one for you

^by hot I mean whatever floats their boat, doesnt necessarily mean the girl has to look like a sports illustrated model.
